Well My father need a motorbike for daily commuting both for city as well as village riding. Basically he need a bike which is reliable and can give good mileage. I am looking at HH CD Deluxe, CD Dawn, Yamaha crux, Bajaj Discover 100cc. Which among these is the best bike considering all factors like reliability, mileage, low-maintenance, spare-parts availability etc. Here are few things I heard about these bike that

CD Deluxe and Dawn are not very efficient bikes. Engine is pretty old kinda.

Yamaha crux is fine but once its engine get opened it start making noice and cant be fine tuned like new one.

Bajaj discover's current quality is not upto the mark.

Please clarify if i am wrong.

    Thanks in advance.

CD Deluxe and Dawn are not very efficient bikes. Engine is pretty old kinda. (Even though hero honda is using age old engine, it is still better than others you have listed, its more refined, smooth and reliable)

Yamaha crux is fine but once its engine get opened it start making noice and cant be fine tuned like new one. ( yamaha Crux is an old, obsolete and flop model, do not go for it.)

Bajaj discover's current quality is not upto the mark. ( there are no issues with quality, but in its quest to make it more stylish and VFM product, bajaj discover has lost one thing and that is ruggedness, so if you are gonna use it in villages, better stay away)

Please clarify if i am wrong.

      Thanks in advance.
in 100 cc bikes and that too if it will be used in villages and VFM/style and other things are not important. go for hero honda CD100 or dawn, its more rugged, reliable, smooth and easy to maintain.

If your father doesn't mind gearless.. then go for tvs wego.. trust me.. it's 110 cc.. I think best in the segement..
I took one for my mom too.. and I love it.. gives good mileage.. excellent handling.. biggest tyres in the segment..comfortable .. metal body.. not to costly spares.. low maintenance..

I would suggest you choose between HH CD deluxe & HH CD Dawn & as mentioned above they are more easy to maintain.

i had the discover...rode it for like 60 80,000 kms. No problems. Never even did a engine overhaul or nething. Its the best bike if you need it for commuting (which is) i dint spend anything on it apart from tires, engine oil, brakes, and usual servicing. Its engine is old but relied by bajaj over years now!!!

i never said that "since it is 100 cc things should not matter", what i said is depending on the conditions it will be used in, you should consider only those things that really matter.

please read properly, i said, since it will be used in villages so ruggedness and "easy to maintain" are more important aspects ...rather than VFM and Style.

Village roads? Are you looking at loading the bike with luggage too? I guess TVS has got some bike Max4 or something, dual rear shocks. That should be good. Discover isn't that bad...

Now I have shortlisted 2 bikes finally.

                        Bajaj Platina 100cc
                        Bajaj Discover 100cc

I like the YBR but my father is somewhat reluctant because of its low market value.

Discover alloys+self is for 45k and platina with alloys(no self) is for 37k. Is Discover worth the extra money or platina is the best.

Take a test ride of both. IMHO the Discover feels a little "better put together" than the Platina. However, both will give you great mileage. Other things apart.

I test rode both. Platina seems to be very light weight. Is it because currently i m riding Discover 125cc (2004 model). It dosent seems to be that stable and planted. Discover 100cc was wobbling (front handle) because of its poor setup so couldnt rode it much. But it was better than Platina and Discover spoke version cost 40k. so which is better.

Go for Discover, you'll get relatively bigger bike feel compared to Platina.
