hi this is Krishna here.i have been a regular follower of xbhp.not an active participant though. i am a photography enthusiast. i love biking mostly alone and capture whatever i see through lens. im riding a p220 right now. i am really happy with my bike if i don't take ground clearance into consideration. so im planning to upgrade to a sports tourer. like the word suggests a tourer which is sporty. i will sometimes take it to the track in Chennai to have lil fun. i will be taking the bike through some of the rough terrains this country has to offer.now the question is which bike. i think i have three options with me as of now- Kawasaki ninja650, Hyosung gt650(not sure can be called as a tourer. its just within my budget) and HD superlow. these are the bikes i know about. please mention if i have missed out on any bikes. are there any other bikes hitting Indian roads in 6months time. if there are any waiting for i don't really mind.hope to hear from you guys soon.
regards
krishna
The answer requires no brainer!!!
HD is not of the regular sport bike type; GT650R is more of track oriented machine & the only option left out is N650R.

Plenty!!! HD superlow, HD Iron 883, Hyosung ST7; and if you take out the criteria of 6L, you've N250R & like JD says C250R.

if you say this because you are unhappy with it, then you wouldnt like HD. Their clearance is lesser than this.
GT650 requires forward lean and it may tire you out in long ride.
CBR250R wont give you significant advantages over P220.
Ninja is at present your good choice for this budget.
Alternatively, I do not mind keeping P220. Its good for solo tours. You can wait for another year to see if more choices come to market.
