Is vibration normal for CBZ for these rpm ranges?
Does clip-on bars cause more pain in hand joints? or is it comfortable for 25-30kms ride at a stretch?

    GS 150R:
No vibration at all, superb build quality, ride was smooth, tacho console was awesome.
But, it was heavy and the upright position was little uncomfortable. Not sure why.

    Will be booking this week.
Are you sure that after driving a MUV for long time you will love a Commuter bike?? I mean the comfort that would deffer from two worlds???

If you are opting the one from CBZ/GS150r then anytime it would be CBZ. Becuase it will give you better re-sale.
Servicing anywhere, as there are ample service centers.
Good Hero Value! Spare parts availabilty and any mechanic can repair it as Hero is so famous!

Is the Traffic that Bad in your route ? That you can't go with cruisers ?? You need it for city daily commuting, not for Weekends or long tour but still comfort comes in crusiers only!!

Why not an Awenger or RE Electra/STD/TBTS?/CL ??

This bikes are used in city traffic daily and are best fr comfort segments.

I am asking you to think on this because you are coming from Car segment to 2 wheeler that too for daily!!

The Pulsar 150 has the best resale value here followed by the Unicorn and then the Hero bikes.
The Unicorn is the more comfortable(Vibrations wise, ergonomics and the saddle) of the lot and it is very very "smooth".
It also has a superb gearbox(like the FZ but notchy for a few hundred kilometers, initially).
It is also a proper two seater.
      It ages gracefully.

        Thanks for the comments.
Yes, Bike cannot give the same comfort of driving an SUV on daily basis.
But, Bangalore has become a nightmare now in terms of traffic.

People who take ORR/Old Airport Rd/Marathahalli would know the pain of driving car.
I did test drive Avenger of my friend, but it felt too heavy for me.
And with bangy traffic, need something agile which suits my style of driving.
Again, its all based on who is driving.
Infact, I thought of buying Nano which is safer compared to a bike. But, somehow I am inclined towards bike rather than one more car.

Scorpio will be there for Friday's and Long drives for sure.

my very genuine advise to you would be a fazer.. Its got all you need.. But its a little more costly for the package.. Its costly just because its lower model the fz wont sell if there is no price difference.
Now coming to the bike.. Comfortable riding posture(better than fz/r15). Very good handling and grip. Its like driving a car with a cut steering wheel.. Will also go with the status.

If you can consider a second hand fz also.. A very well maintained fz was on sale by Nand15 (was available in the classified section), doesnt know if thats available now. He just wanted to upgrade to a r15... Help him upgrade and also fulfill your requirements !! Forget about resale after five years, it would be just 20-25ks less.
It would be a great buy for both of you!

lower model in terms of fairing!! All else remains the same.. Slight change in seating posture is also there.. But i am not interested in doing a fazer vs fz here.

Just addition of fairing doesnt make a fazer costlier.. Its a marketing strategy. If fazer comes in 3-4 ks more than the fz/fzs no one will buy a fz/fzs.. Except for hard core naked bike lovers.

                  At last!!
I booked the CBZ Xtreme Double Risk Panther Black yesterday. Friday is the delivery.
Will post the pics and initial exp.

                  Few queries:
What is the run-in procedure for getting good mileage and good engine response?
Which seat cover is good? as I see CBZ seat is little harder
Handle grips: Polythene or normal rubber grip?

                  Please advice.

Finally got the vehicle delivered on Friday evening. Black color on CBZ looks awesome with those disc brakes. I am maintaining <40-50kmph for first 2000kms. To give it a good run in.

I am feeling handle vibrations of I touch 40kmph. Not sure why vibrations for just 40kmph. Any advice please.

Why do we need runnin periods??? Becuase piston is not that hard to accept the heat/cold mixture and hard beat of axels...So the running period is required to make he psiton well for the actual use along with ther entire engine mechanisms to get it's way to work perfect.

So riding smoothly between 40-60kmph till 700kms-1000kms would be great!! No rash driving please. PLease see the ownership thread you will get a fair idea about all your queries!!

                        Friends, need some advice.

My CBZ-X completed 500kms and done with First service with HH 10W-30 Oil.
On the day of purchase, I filled the tank to the brim which was a mistake. The CBZ tank goppled 14.5 ltrs + 1ltr from showroom. But, as per Manual it should be just 12 ltrs + 1.5ltr reserve.

Now, I have completed around 700kms and the bike is still running good with Fuel On.
It has not come to reserve yet. But, the fuel guage shows that I have crossed the red mark and needle is way below.

Only when the fuel stops in ON position, i need to flip to reserve position. Correct?
                        OR
Since the needle is already crossed the red mark, should I flip to reserve now?

I dont want to end up in the middle of the road without fuel left.
I hope this common sense is present in new bikes of today.

dont go by what you see on the instrument panel regarding fuel indication.. let the fuel knob be in ON position till while riding you feel that the fuel is finished (you will feel a little drag when the fuel comes to reserve). ANd only then turn the knob to reserve position..and fill up your stead...... AS the bike is new to you plz confirm / crosscheck the ON, OFF , RESERVE position of the fuel knob correctly.
Life is like riding a motorcycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving,to move forward you must throtle...

BTW, the update on Fuel Knob is quite funny. Got confused with Fuel On and Reserve direction.
I was actually using Fuel Knob in reserve for the whole 760kms.
For 15.5 ltrs, I got 760kms. It comes to around 49kmpl. I had used the full tank and luckily fuel ceased infront of a local petrol bunk.

This time I filled 13ltrs just below the fuel tank neck and filled the air with 29/33.

I observed some changes in the riding quality after first service.

                              1) The front handle has lost some cushion and can feel bad hit to the handle directly whenever I cross the hump or pothole. Something hard is hitting under the headlight or something directly to the under handle. Not sure why this has happened.
(For ex: at around 20-30kmph, if I approach a hump or pothole I apply both front and rear brakes. rear brakes are good and stiff. But, on front brakes; the suspension/fork vibrates a little before it comes to halt)
                              2) Rear disk brakes still make noise during normal braking
                              3) Oil has been replaced with std HH 10W30 oil
                              4) Handle Resonance (mild vibration) after 50kmph. Have never crossed 4K rpm till now.

I am really worried on point 1 since I can feel the difference one front suspension which was so smooth before first service.
Took to SVC guy near my house. (Sai Motors, BSK, Bangalore).
He agreed on mild vibration and rear disc brake noise. For handle issues, SVC guy was saying they purposefully allow a play for front suspension/handle. Not sure how logical it is.

Please advice. Otherwise, I am really happy with the bike and it is really a work horse.
