I'll swim against the current here, and say that, while the Bullet looks interesting, it's still an ancient design. The bike is essentially a copy of the original, which was designed more than 50 years ago. It's going to be heavier than more modern bikes, and apparently, as of this year, you can't get the "old-style" engine anymore, so that signature "thump" sound is no more.
From what members of my Indian family here has been telling me, I gather that the Bullet has survived mainly on the lingering cachet of being the bike ridden by authority figures, and was a symbol of importance. However, the bike landscape in India is evolving rapidly. The Bullet is no longer the biggest bike out there, by a long shot, and looks increasingly dated. "Important" people, and those of high social status, are going to be riding more modern foreign bikes now, as they are better-built, more powerful, and more impressive looking.
I guess it comes down to whether you want to live in the past, clinging to outdated symbols of status derived from a particularly unpleasant period in India's history, or if you want to move forward, and embrace the progress motorcycling has made in the more than half-century since the Bullet appeared.ATGATT: All The Gear, All The Time!

Currently I have silver Electra 5S (CI) 2008 model. I bought it for 65k, it was in mint condition.
I will upgrade to Classic 500, probably next year
if my financial planning goes well.

I clean it on weekly basis, specially chrome parts. check for oil leaks if any. check spark plugs on regular intervals. regular service after every 2500-3000 kms . that's all i do and touch wood no major issues.Originally posted by amit71176 View PostSo you can help me out by sharing your knowledge about how to maintain the "bull"

in case of rust use spray WD40 on rusty parts.(not on engine)
thats all i do.
but new bullets UCE need less maintenance and care.
