  • Planning to buy CD-Deluxe & Modify it

I own a CBZ Extreme and been using it for the past 3 years. The bike is extremely good and great handling. But, now i am thinking of downgrading to a 100CC bike, i thought of buying the discover 100CC, it looks good, but it has 5 gears. For gods sake! why 5 gears for a 100cc bike, i rode it.. the 1st gear and the 2nd gear are almost the same.

So then next option in line is Splendor, but i dont like splendor, so i think i will settle for CD Deluxe. The bikes performance and mileage is pretty good, but i am thinking about modifying the bike a bit, not any major mods, just a bit.. I just worked out a mod using MS Paint and the outcome seems promising.. (sorry for the bad designing skills, thats the best i could do )

    Proposed modifications:

    - Engine cowl
    - clip-on handle bars
    - full black paint job, for alloys, saree gaurd, exhaust and golden brown for fork, and shocks.
    - cut seat

I have attached the image below for you to take a look. Please look at the picture and comment on it. Should i go for it? Or just stick with the stock version.

I am using the 20 yrs old engine myself (1984 model actually) and it is a frugal engine, and if used only for single person in city, a better option than the heavyweight 150+ bikes...

@thread starter, stock is good.. if you want a good looking bike, better mod the cbz... you will have some go with the show.. just a sugestion

You're just repainting the bike. Go ahead. HH has been doing that for decades !!!
But cheaper option would be to buy and older bike and modify--I mean, repaint it.

            ^^ +1

If you are buying a new bike just to modify it then you are spending enough money to get you a better bike. Instead, buy a 2nd hand bike which would be available for nearly 60-70% of the price of the original. and use the remaining money to mod it.
