Well, in terms of reliability and maintenance, how is Apache 160 compared to CBZ Xtreme. I know I am asking too much. Actually I am totally noob in bikes. So asking the Gurus. Hope you guys wont mind.
go for apache 180 or its abs varient, but 160 is not reliable like other tvs.
Not my opinion and have no experience with it, but got this advice from an apache 160 user

      Thanks for your reply.
Actually I wanted a side by side comparison of CBZ Xtreme and Apache in terms of reliability, maintenance, build quality, durability.
Which one will be better among these two?

        cbz xtreme>>
        pros:1.buletproof honda engine
        2.looks fresh with new styling
3.moderate pick-up with moderate top end
4.fuel efficiency in the range of 45-50 kmpl
        5.hero's good after sale service
        cons: 1.not good highway behaviour
        2.feels heavy at parking speed
        3.not recommended for the power-cravers.

        apache rtr[my personal favourite]
        pros:1.raw power
        2.good topend
3.handling be it high way or city traffic
        4.just love the grunt.vroom vroom.
        5.biker's delight
        cons:1.vibration.
2.low fuel efficiency compared to cbz.
        3.tire sucks on wet tarmac
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
        #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

I own a SZ-R and ride about 40KM a day FE is 46-47 (Recently checked was 49 may be climate in Bangalore) with Pillon 95% of time (Total weight about 110 KG)

Reliabel - Yes, however after sale service is poor...

After sale service is Poor?? Where do you give it for servicing?? Where do you stay?
I got my bike at "Bangalore Wheels" and they have done good servicing of my bike and you can ask anyone here in the forum, even FZ, R15 ownership thread for a good service center near to your place, since I cannot vouch for any other service centers.
There are no short-cuts to any place worth going. So ride safe when you are treading uncharted roads.

              apace vs xtreme

taking into ur height and weight into consideration...its cbzx all the way...

if u seat two in a apache, definately u will see cramped u siting positions...rider can't move...cbzx has a lot of space...

built, ride quality, durablity....cbzx all the way...tvs is light years behind in built quality and durablity...

cbzx has the best handling in 150cc....expect r15.....

never go for apache FI model...

top speed is more or less the same in both bikes..these two are the fastest in 150cc....
apache has a over enthiatics speedo...my freind's apace speedo can reach 135km...not the bike...

apace is more affected by cross winds because of low kerb weight....

              go for cbzx..............

1.riding position of apache is not called cramped,it is SPORTY
2.TVS has compitent build quality like its competitors if not better
3.cbz is the best handler in 150 cc segment except r15.disastrous comment.what about fz ,dazzler, apache.seems like they are worse handler
4.apache fi is not in production
5.cbz definitely not the fastest in 150 cc category
6.how do you know apache is most affected by cross winds.have you ever ridden apache on highways.i seriously doubt that
7.what is OVER ENTHIATICS speedo.apache definitely has marginal speedo error.but i guess you hardly know how enthusiastic its engine is
and the question remains why do i race?

the following comments are picked up from ur previous post...

                  .not good highway behaviour
                  2.feels heavy at parking speed
                  3.not recommended for the power-cravers

                  i don't think these are cons with cbz-x...u haven't seen a cbzx...i guess.....

u have mentioned rtr is ur favourte..just like that cbzx is my personal favourite..
it's good to stop replying to my posts and help the onwer of post get a good bike.......

rtr definitely has better highway behaviour than cbz,and cbz is definitely not recommended for those who want raw power.although this ia a public forum that does not necesserily mean that you write whatever you want to show your fanboyism.i am definitely helping thread starter to make decision as i have gone through this kinda confusion.
                    peace

i'm not a hh fan boy...i didn't exbhit any fanboyism here....tvs apache has better brakes..i really didn't mean to hurt apace owners...personally cbzx better build quality and durabity....cbzx is my pick...

sayank i didn't really mean to pick up a fight with u...sorry if i'm harsh

                          Guys, cool it.
Everyone has personal opinions. That is fine. No need to fight.

And about me, mostly looking for a reliable machine, low on maintenance and decent power.

Seems it is cbz. Will book in Feb 2nd week.

                              Hi

See as you mention in your post about your requirement then form the point of maintained discover, Apache and Honda unicon had low maintained but form look wise only Apache will be ok another bike is CBZ xtreme which as good look but need maintenance so form my side I would recommend here Apache as its power packed bike and also have great resell value.
