You want a comfortable bike also good on FE. Check out the new Pulsar 200 NS. With road tax also it would be comfortable in your budgets. Bajaj service network is really very good and they are the leaders in mileage too. The new bike looks fresh out of the normal clutter and has a nice feeling.
Beware of Yamaha bikes. They are overpriced and they loot in services. A friend of mine recently bought FZ. Hes getting mileage of 27kmpl in the city. R15 gives 35kmpl but you would be looted in the servicing. Nice handling but uncomfortable for long rides and sales of Yamaha is very low and also network is very limited.
Suzuki gsx 150R. Very nice bike with 6speed and price very low but suzuki have very limited dealers and low sales.
You can also look at Honda Unicorn Dazzler which will be below your budget but nice refinement when compared to any other bike in the country. Though it would lack the charisma of P200NS. Go for Bajaj/Honda Bikes servicing and FE would be taken care of. All the best.

Dude Avenger is an awesome bike when quality comes. You are not talking about the xcd or discover bikes. In 83k yamaha fz16 etc just dream of quality what Avenger possess. Avenger has much better quality than old gen pulsars too.
After the next generation pulsars come they are gonna be high on quality do not worry.

And I wud recommend do not buy R15 v2 the overpriced crap. Its most overpriced and overrated bike in India. Just wait for Honda CBR 150R if you want a track oriented bike or the faired Pulsar 200 NS. Both are anyday better bike than R15 v2.

          Guys,

After a lot of thinking and checking out other parameters, I zeroed on "Avenger" that too the second hand (6 months old) becasue:

          1. I liked the ride of this bike and looks like its perfectly suited for my weekend rides (50-100km).
          2. I always liked the way it looks and its kind of Exclusive in the run-of-the-mill bikes
          3. Finalized the deal at 68K, even though it looks a bit on high, the owner has got quite a hit on resale. I might sale it off after couple of years, depending on its performance on my parameters.
          4. After going through all bikes that I was looking at, R15 was dear to me but then it certainly looked over priced for its engine.
          5. A lot of money saved , looking at my 80-120K price bracket.

Thanks a lot guys for all your help !! Really appreciate !

take care of your steed.happy motoring.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
            #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

You are welcome! So you finally made your mind for the same Avenger! Wishing you a long standing cherishable releshionship with your fav bike.,
Dont forget to keep it regularly serviced, which includes to overhaul your front shocks every 5000-7000km, and going for a fully synthetic oil for smooth vibration free rides.
There are no short-cuts to any place worth going. So ride safe when you are treading uncharted roads.

Congrats Neon. Good choice. But remember the Avenger costs 84k on-road even in Karnataka (if i remember correctly) so depending on your city you can see the price of the new bike. Also I would suggest you to put on a big visor glass provided by Bajaj (3-4k I guess) which makes the looks of the bike really classy.

According to your demands i'm going suggest the best bikes for you:

1)SUZUKI GS150R-A 150cc sports-commuter,the best in its class for long distance riding, smooth refined engine with good performance.Engine Balancer Technology in this bike reduces the engine vibrations thus even at top speeds the bike has no vibrations.Having 6-speed gearbox, which gives good mileage as well as a cruising feeling at highways. The bike is huge compared to other bikes & considered by it riders it belongs in a class of its own for it reliabilty as well as great high end performance. This will be a good choice,as the maintenance is low, good mileage even if you only use it doing weekends only.

2)KTM DUKE 200-If you have the budjet, then I suggest you go for it.It looks different, its powerfull & performs really well & has very comfortable seating. If you like this bike surely go for it...AfterAll its a 'KTM'...

                    3)Royal Enfield CL350/500/THUNDERBIRD

Let if be for a short ride or a long ride Royal Enfield's are the best for it.RE will soon launch the Thunderbird 500,which looks great. If you have the passion & want to ride a Royal Enfield I suggest you go for this.Classic 350/500 will be better according to your demands.

4)Hero Karizma R/ZMR-Both are almost the same bikes & considered among the best Tourer bikes in India. It has the reliable Honda engine & performs very well.It has a 223cc engine pumping out 17bhp of power along with its size, looks really good.So checkout this bike also.

Bikes like Yamaha FZ/R15 are kids bikes not something a mature man like you should ride. All the bikes I have listed above are great choices, each are unique in its own way.So either SUZUKI GS150R or Hero Karizma R/ZMR or Duke 200 or Royal Enfield bikes.Choose which you like.
                    BIKES OWNED:
                    1)BAJAJ PULSAR 200NS (2012-
                    2)Kinetic ITALLINO BLAZE 165 (2007-
                    3)SUZUKI GS150R (2010-

"YOU MIGHT BE THE ONE WHO RIDE'S THE BIKE,but never forget that YOU ARE DRIVEN BY GOD- 'SOUL~RIDER'---

Yamaha FZ16, R15 are good bikes comes in sports category. Did you consider carburetor based Karizma? This falls in your budget and it has a well refined engine, riding posture is good too. Also depends how long in terms of hours you will be driving the bike constantly. Avenger is a cruiser and has low hight, also a very good bike.
