    Hi to everyone out there...

I need advise from you guys in buying a bike. I'm 5'6, 65 Kg's. I don't have any bikes before neither do my dad. I had no thought of buying bikes mainly because of my family situation while i'm in college. Now, I have been in job for 2 years and planning to get a bike for myself. Mostly i'll be using the bike on weekends. I need a bike with decent mileage and looks. I have made searches online and and asked my friends. Some suggest Unicorn or Unicorn Dazzler - Most of my friends suggest this bike because of good mileage, good smooth engine, low maintenance etc.., Some of my friends are asking me to wait for some time, so that we can have the reviews of Hero Ignitor (stunner look alike) from Hero. My budget will be in the range of 50k to 75k. Need your suggestion guys.

Just saw that CBR150R, Pulsar 200 NS are going to be released in India. What will be the approximate price and mileage of it?
If that will suit my height and will provide a decent mileage somewhere near 50, I can afford some more money and buy it.

dude both the p200NS and cbr150r will cost upwards of 1 lakh....

in your budget i can recommend you the following bikes...

            1. yamaha SZR. same engine as fz but tuned for mileage presently giving a mileage above 50kmpl. yamaha's refinement. exshowroom around 52k

            2. honda unicorn, dazzler, pulsar 150, apache160..... all the bike made for performance and gives good mileage. exshowroom around 60-65k

            3. yamaha fz, apach180, pulsar 180... all the bike made for performance but not good for milleage.... although the looks of fz gives you much more than you need... plus the handling, build quality and refinement are simply amazing for fz. exshowroom around 70-75k
slight difference in character in all of them, nothing more...

other bikes in the same segment are:

hero impulse but that is a niche bike you will either like it or hate it.

hero ignitor/honda stunner i dont know much about it but a friend of mine sold one after using it for 1 year and bought a pulsar... says one of the worst bikes ever made by honda... all show and no go.... not my opinion.

with your height you can go for any of the bikes mentioned above and you wont have any kind of problem...
            Timon: Orange Yamaha FZ16 2009
            Optimus: Red Mahindra XUV500 W8 FWD 2013
Atom: Red Tata Nano XTA 2016
            Pumba: Red Harley Street 750

i think you need to state your requirements more specifically, many bikes fall in the 50-75 k price range, many of them has good mileage and looks.
and the question remains why do i race?

If you get too confused, go get the Pulsar150. Atleast 90% of people would assume you've made a good choice and got a "Sports" bike...

rtr 160 hyper-edge is far better choice.

I guess A160 HE would be a better choice than Pulsar. Pulsar is very common nowadays.

You can also try A180. On road price in Delhi is around 78K(not sure whats the price in your city), if riden sanely can give an average of 40 - 45 km/ltr, you can enjoy adrenaline rush when you want to.

You can try P135 as well, different looks, power of a 150cc and milaege of 125cc(as BAL claims )
                    Siddhartha
                    ZMA (2004) - SOLD
                    CBR250R(2012)....

rtr 180 is overall great product than 160, so i would anyday suggest 180 over 160. with p135 you get to taste both world, power and mileage.

                        Hi r_arun
As you want a bike which should have good look and mileage then you can go for Unicon this bike is good in performance, mileage and maintenance and its resell value is also good another bike which will be best to buy are apache, impulse. Personally I would say for apache this bike has amazing power, mileage and pickup and has great resell value.

                          Hi Arun

Many bike fall in this category.

You can choose from Honda Unicorn, Yamaha SZ and Suzuki GS 150R
all these bikes have better refinement, low on maintenance and will give you a joy to ride.

When you look for 125 you can go for Honda Shine. Hero Ignitor its too early to comment but it a renamed stunner..

If you are looking for performance from the bike choose RTR 160 (Hyper Edge) and for styling and road presence FZ-16 ....

CBR 150 will be priced above 1 lakh and Pulsar 200NS will be definitely above 90 K
                          Yamaha RX100 (1993)
                          Yamaha RX135 (2000)
                          Bajaj Pulsar 150 (2004)
                          Yamaha FZ-25 (2017)
                          TVS N-Torq (2018)

U have millions of bikes in that bracket. Test drive them all to knw what u like.
                            - P-135, Sz-r, RTR-160, Unicorn-Dazzler, P-150, GS-150R.
PS- If you like common proven old models then go for either P-150 or Unicorn. If you dont want common bike go for other options.

Since you plan on using the bike on weekends, i am assuming you want to have fun too and not just use the bike for commuting; i'd suggest on of the following:

                              1. Dazzler:
PROS: Very good fuel economy, Super-smooth engine and easy on maintenance.
Cons: Won't give you the feel of a Sports-inspired bike.

                              2. P135:
Pros: Good mileage and performance. It's a light bike and so easy to handle.
Cons: Styling IMO is not so good. (that's only thing i could think of :P )

                              3. RTR 180:
Pros: Absolute screamer! Exhaust note is just super! Engine is good, and it handles like a dream
Cons: Some people have been complaining about vibrations in higher rev-range (but i wouldn't bother much about vibes on a weekend bike). Fuel economy is slightly on the lower side but all the fun you have on the bike makes up for it/

                              4. Discover 150:
Haven't ridden the bike for myself yet and so won't be able to list out pros and cons but i recon it is a good bike and has a decent enough fuel efficiency

                              5. Honda Stunner 125:
Pros: You get a very refined engine (Honda... goes without saying), you get a fuel injection, you get a half fairing, Very good fuel efficiency (Thanks to Fuel Injection)
Cons: Headlight isn't too good, one might feel a lack of punch.... but since it is your first bike You won't.

                              LASTLY AND MOST IMPORTANTLY: TEST-DRIVE
Don't take a bike merely by reading our advise on the forum. Test drive and feel the response of every bike you like and then decide for yourself.

                              BEST OF LUCK!
