  • Planning to Buy the New Honda Dio & Confused !!!

    Hi Folks,

As many did, i was waiting for the new Honda DIO to hit showrooms and to see it in real.
Saw it today and it made me think to go for it.

    My personal views below:

    Liked #

    1. Matt black color looks very good.
    2. First in class tubeless tyres.
    3. Assisted brakes.
    4. Bigger Engine.
    5. Very good front looks.
    6. Very good side looks.

    Not Liked #

    1. Speedo console, felt the old one or the activa's console was far far looking better.
    2. The rear view, the tail lamp is very big which does not make an impression.
    3. The handle bar's does not have the protective ends, like the last version of the Dio did.

Although the not likes are just 3 for me since i did not have hands on Dio till date.

Experts, please comment on the above and share your views too. The worst part is, the showroom guy claims that the old Dio will not be available at all ...

I was at the AUTO EXPO this year and the new Dio scored well with the public as far as I saw. I personally like the new looks. As you said, the speedo console looks dated. This scooterette is supposed to be powerful enough for two, zippy through the traffic and has good underseat storage. The only major problem that existed in the Dio was its overheating on long rides. Pls check if the issue has been solved.

i have three very contemporary products in mind=

        1.dio[india's only moto-scooter]=new 110 cc,bump in power figure,claimed 15% more mileage,looks fresh,tubelss tyres,cbs,18 ltr storage space with additional luggage space,mf battery,viscous air-filter which needs changing after15000km,very well priced[read vfm],it lacks telescopic front suspension and discs upfront.

        2.tvs wego[very compitent yet underrated]=body balance tech is proven ,i hav experienced its superior handling,telescopic front suspension,patented e-z stand,external fuel-filling cap,powerful than dio,good looking alloys,priced slightly more than dio.

3.suzuki swiss[dark horse]=looks awesome, powerful of the lot[access's proven 125 engine],telescopic front suspension,20 litre under-seat storage, stylish silencer cover, priced well, only con is this is new product and reviews are not yet out

and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
        #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

Thanks for the feedback guys, never had TVS wego in mind. Unfortunately, test drive is not available at my place.

Will look for a TD in Bangalore and then decide.

2 weeks back I witnessed its unveiling in one of the SVC(read Apple Auto) in bangalore. So you might have to check with the dealers about its availability.

The new Dio has the latest engine and is more fuel efficient and powerful than the older one. Why do you want to buy the old Dio with old engine??

The new Dio has (compared to old Dio):

                          1. Refreshed looks
                          2. More powerful and efficient engine.
                          3. TUBELESS tyres (no other scooter has tubeless tyres)
                          4. MF battery and Viscous-free air filter.
