Hi I'm a college student, 5"7' Average built. Planning to buy a bike for daily commutation, Touring with friends and some extravaganza. My preferences are bikes with

Good acceleration>Top speed above 120>good handling>a muscular feel and and an average mileage.

I'm not a pro biker and the most powerful bike I've rode is an avenger 220. I'm not interested in cruisers because of their bulky feel and difficulty for city riding. Naked bikes are my primary choice. Anything above 180 CC, 18 PS will work, provided the above conditions are satisfied. I don usually enjoy rides with a pillion rider, so one which is not so just to the pillion is also a good choice. Priced under 1 lakh, i've short listed P200NS, RTR 180, P180, Unicorn Dazzler(150 CC, Last Choice), FZS(150 CC, Last Choice). Is it advisable to buy 200NS? Will it be hard to maintain (I've seen my Bro's P150 drinking money)?
Riding is not about destinations, it's about journeys.

regarding your query i have 2 bikes in my mind
      1.rtr abs
      2.pulsar 200 ns.
both in spec-sheet and real world p200 is way ahead of rtr.choose rtr if safety is your first priority.both of them are naked, both have good acceleration, top speed above 120,both them promise to return good mileage, both of them are good handler.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
      #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

If possible extend your budget get the duke you get inverted forks, better handling, ktm power parts in future , the best looking naked street fighter at present when compared to p200ns also FI for linear power delivery where its counterpart comes carburreted

I dont prefer RTR, for its looks, and can i expect an abs version of 200NS in the near future?

Duke, for sure is the best i can get now. But will FI turn into an head ache? I've read many of the members complaining about the fuel quality issues.

heard that face-lifted rtr is around the corner ,although exact date cannot be said.white rtr doesn't look that bad.i don't think abs will be offered as an option with p200ns in near future.

fi bikes are a little expensive to maintain compared to a carbed one,but it is a boon rather tha bane, according to bs4 norms the minimum ron of fuel sold across the country is 91 octane, that will do good with duke, although i suggest you to stick to speed,xtra-premium or shell .

Need to do more research on this topic. And have heard that engine modifications are difficult on FIs.

if you don't like RTR looks try P180. It performs pretty good but not as good as RTR though, decent mileage, cheap spares, good for city riding and if maintained well it'll last long. but if you can wait.. 200NS it is

hmm definitely if you have the patience, but don't expect increase in bhp figure as it is merely a cosmetic upgrade.you may wanna check out p200 ns.

I was using P180(ug3) till now. The back shocks are too bad. And i regularly had the problem of somethin below the gear box (belonging to the exhaust system i guess) hitting the ground in gutters. When it comes to 200NS, i hope mono shocks resolve the issue. But the exhaust under the gearbox still worries me.

Planning to wait till some sneak peaks of the bike are released. And who knows, sometimes 200Ns abs version will be released by then. What about the aftermarket mechanical ABSs? Anyone tried them?
