I know it is a track machine but come on when you are selling for general public somebody sometime will sit in the back in a bike that too in our country.
Also, when honda can come up with similar track machine (only performance not switch gears ) which is comfortable for rider as well as pillion why can't Yamaha make a pillion friendly r15.

that is why I went for cbr 150r. But what I wanted was exactly like r15 v2.0 with honda's pillion seat.
I really loved the R15V1`s seating. Its perfect. I dunno why they design a bike inspired from R1 if they designed the first version perfectly. Anyhow Yamaha still sells R15`s a lot better. I still love Yamaha!

As said by Somen, pillion comfort is a must because someday there will be a pillion(maybe yourself will be a pillion) in your bike. I took two long drives in my CBR 150 and it is very endurable machine. ITs me who was getting tired and not the bike.

Blend of perfection. All we need. May be Honda/Yamaha thinks about this in near future.

Yes, please do that. That is the key. All the bikes have their pros and cons, at the end what matters is what you want and what is comfortable for you.
On a lighter note, somebody had posted in one of older posts that r15 v2 is neighbor's envy and cbr150r is owner's pride.

I think any sports bike is not for pillion, because you won't corner with a pillion as a risk!! Track machines are single rider machines. They are not for family etc!! They are for power, enjoy and thrill.

I myself a R15 V1 owner, but hardly I have carried any pillion. Very rare with my Wife, i prefer car for pillion or a 110cc Aspire in city rather than R15.

R15 V2 has the best design INMO. If you see most of the SBKs have tall rear seat. I would personal love to ride alone and Zic Zac or corner. But when it's a pillion doing Zic Zac or Cornering is the most foolish stuff including risk of pillion's life!!

R15 and CBR 150r both are very different bikes. So while choosing one has to be sure of it's needs!! And surely R15 or CBR is not for masses. It's for passionate people!! Family people would surely prefer something pillion related with mileage and Decent power/Speed rather than CBR or R15.

Honda Just missed the trick of having premium switch gears. They could have borrowed it from the 250R. But still I feel My V2 looks much better compared to the 150r No Offense. Just a personal opinion! And the point about Pillion Rider comfort R15 is built with a tag of Arrive alone, the seat is actually used when We have no other choice but to take a pillion!

Yep I agree R15 has better looks it has to as it's replica of yamaha's two best in the business R6 and R1 but practically if you want a bike for daily commute and occasionally for fun like in weekends. Then R15 is not good and Cbr rocks here... and ya many would advise if you want a daily commute and fun for sometime type bike then go for pulsar but...but naah it doesn't have the standard looks of R15 or Cbr. and there are another bunch of people who say R15 is track bike so forget about comfort yep its a track bike but it has 150cc engine with 17bhp and 15nm torque which is less doesn't fulfill the requirement of a track bike though I guess if it was 250cc bike then it would have been brilliant...and I don't think who owns R15 just use it for tracks pure tracks lovers would go for ninja or hyosung....!!!

Both R15 V2 and CBR150 are meant to be ridden on track. As peryou requirements, I would suggest you go with CBR. It has almost the same power as R15. The areas CBR scores over R15 is the pillion seat. V1 of R15 was comfortable enough but with V2 Yamaha has made the bike more focussed towards race track usage. Pillion on R15 would not be a good option. Lookwise, R15 looks better to me than CBR(though I am a CBR owner myself) but , you cannot invest 1.3lacs just based on looks. The best way is jot down your requirements from a bike, ride both of them and decide. As simple as that.

I guess, in the first post he mentioned sporty, I would analyse that he wants a fully faired bike. So Duke is automatically out of consideration.

Just my thought, no ofence meant.

Yeah i too agree about the fact that the Displacement and the power isn't adequate.. Ninja and Hyosung twin cylinders and besides they are brought through CKD and are not affordable. Yamaha would soon come up with a 250cc to tackle them with keeping the costs down. And R15 once ridden would give you a feel to ride those Bigger bikes with similar seating posture dude.. and would inspire you with total confidence while cornering on a highway. Personally i feel biking is not only about top speed and performance its also about handling . CBR i love its elder sibling the 1000r but not the 250 or 150's styling. But both HONDA and YAMAHA are strong competitors if a person is to choose between the two.. He would never regret later if he chooses any of these two!! and Another personal opinion about choosing between the two came for me when i had to choose the color.. CBR 150r did not have a complete black option rather than a mixed combo of black and white..

I have no major complains about R15 v2 its just it wont be useful to me, riding bike is all about pleasure but if i would ride r15 for 40km(to and from) my destination daily which is part of my daily life, soon i would regret my choice (R15) that's why i chose cbr150 though it also has drawbacks of very cheap switchgears, low grip tyres when compared to R15 .... but as per my requirement it won't hurt me..my primary choice was always R15 but after td I shifted my choice for Cbr due to its comfort...!!

All the differences highlighted in the thread are very minute, there's not much that you'd notice in your daily usage apart from the better comfort level that cbr150r offers. CBR may feel slightly sluggish in lower RPMs but makes makes up for it when in higher RPMs, its a matter of personal choice. Go with what your heart says.

Same here, I use cbr 150r for daily usage. It's too good in comfort, rocket in highways. If you are going to play your 2nd and 3rd gears. You will not feel much of sluggishness. Very stable in high speeds, fantastic handling and crisp braking. All is well in cbr 150r except the switchgear which is in the well. If you don't mind that, you are good to go.
