Went to Dugar Honda today and booked my CBR. I liked the dealership, Siddharth Dugar and his father attended me personally. So much so I ended up buying the ABS version. It burnt a huuuuuuuge hole in my pocket. Rs.1.60 lacs was a stress itself and going upto Rs.1.87 was kind of financial suicidal for meis. But two factors prompted me to take that decision. First was the test ride. Siddharth was kind enough to let me take a longish test ride. He had encouraged me to try the ABS version and asked me specifically to try out some hard braking. Incidentally while he was taking down the test ride bike from the display podium, he dropped it. This left the bike with a cracked left mirror and dented heat shield on the exhaust. This gave me the liberty to ride hard another drop won't really matter. So it went on like this. I was riding along the service road. I was doing some 50 odd kmph when I noticed this patch with loose gravel and sand. I decided to try out the ABS. As I approached this patch I said a silent prayer and braked like there is no tomorrow..but whoa the bike tracked true and straight and came to standstill in such a calm manner that I was literally taken aback. On that patch, at the same speed my GS150 surely would have created dramatics. I was sold on the ABS. The second reason was my wife. She stood firm and insisted that I pay those extra bucks. No compromise on safety if options are available. We did the same thing while we bought the VW Polo. We paid those extra bucks and opted for airbags and ABS. These things might or might not come to use but when they come to use normally it makes a difference between life and death and those moments can't be measured in monetary terms.

I booked the red one. Did not like the tricolor in flesh...not for my test..

Now looking forward to some cool rides

No waiting time at all. In fact the showroom guys were too egar to deliver the Bike immediately since I made full payment. I did not take it without registration. Hopefully this will be done next week and I am planning to take delivery on April 14, 2012, Bengali new year's day.

in kolkata dugar honda is the best honda i came across.congrats your buy.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
          #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

Congrats and hope it helps tide over the crisis. to completely get your mojo back, you should do an interstate expressway run like i do at times on my 250R.
I know you mentioned budget earlier but hope you are not gonna ride the bike till you have a quality helmet n protective gear, even if you dont intend to go to the track or spend your time on the bike redlining every gear.

Welcome Sir! Congrats for a lovely machine. When are you getting it?
And a very wise decision made by you and respected Aunt, both, for the VW Polo and this one.

Mid Life Crisis - Resolved -- for NOW.. Next is what? HD maybe..

                  Thanks AK916, Enthusiatic and Sunny...

@AK916 safety is definately high on my priority list and there is no compromise on riding gears. I intend to do a interstate run. I have already a "Wild Odisha Run" in mind whereas I will cover the forests of Odisha and ride upto Koraput & Malkangiri. Just need to check on the insurgency situation there.
