  • KTMor RECL350/ThunderBird/Karizma ??

    Hi Friends,

I am here for asking a help from you guys....

I am a very happy user of R15. As earlier i use to ride R15 only on weekends and sometimes in necessary demands.

Now i have to travel 40kms daily, using R15 for it. But as you guess know riding R15 40kms daily will kill any person back or hands.....

So i have planned to buy a new bike but i am confused between KTM/RE CL350/ Karizma/TBTS.

PLease help me to decide which one to buy??

And any KTM user who can help me to understand the up and downs to be faced while riding KTm???

Appreciate all you suggestions and love.....

    Happy Riding !!!

have a visit of ktm thread.so you want a bike for daily commuting, then let it be a simple bike like p135,unicorn,sz-r,gs150r.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
      #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

If you are a very happy user of R15 then KTM is the most similar in terms of build quality, chassis rigidity, cornering ability etc. to the the R15. Of course, it does a have a bigger, but not too much bigger, engine and way more upright seating position. KTM is also light on torque.

If you are looking for something different, especially for touring, then you look at your other options.

        Please describe your needs more.

          Thanks Mate !

I am looking for KTM or RE's only now.

Don't know when this RE waiting period would come to an end.

need to wait for 11 months for CL 350 , two months for TBTS and KTM 1-2 months.

If comfort is the only thing that you are looking for then CL350 / TBTS. Duke is also a good option. But as compared to RE... NEAHHh..
But ~80 KMs a day can be easily on da DUKE (depends on you..)...

Friend it's not 80kms it's 40 kms (20 +20). And i am too on your side of KTM. But had thought of CL350 or TBTS also. But their waiting period is too much....

If i can get a TBTS in 1 week then i will surely go for TBTS or CL350 if i get this for 15 days or 1 month.

                Else KTM rocks !! it's 1-2 months...

But just want to be sure that whether it's as comfortable in position as FZ ??

Same pinch, I ride 40Kms(One side.) daily to college. And I own and use a ZMA.

But since you can afford the TBTS, go for it without a second thought. And you wont regret it. Best bike when it comes to cruising, the comfort can be matched to that of a car. The reasons why I didnt recommend the rest were cause-

1.KTM - 40Kms on a street bike, is not something you'd prefer to do on a daily basis. Though am not sure about its riding posture since I havent ridden it.

2.RE CL 350 - Personally, If you have your eye on a thunderbird then why even care to look at this?.

3.Karizma - Its a fair bike, but not worthy comparing the competiton(C350&Thunderbird) cause I dont expect that you're planning to do a 130Kmph speedo indicated while commuting.

Why not go for a simple bike like Yamaha SZ or upcoming Discover 150, if you are looking for a bike just to commute to office??

The bikes you mentioned are all pretty good & different from each other. You can't go wrong with any of them. If it's just for city, Duke 200 makes lot of sense, it's light, torquey & powerful, simply put it's fast & flickable.

If you would have been here in Kolkata, I would have asked to exchange your bike with mine..because I need an R15 these days

Right friend.... daily a 130kmphr is something very unobvious. And specially like TBTS... i checked with the Dealers here in mumbai and they all are like TBTS 6 months waiting period and CL350 12 months Cl 500 4 months.

Planing to search more showrooms and book TBTS.

Duke is nice and riding position is also like FZ comfortable...But i din't like the firing in any case. Rest all are superb!

KTM Duke would be my last choice here.

since you already have an R15, and assuming you are happy with it, you wont find any other bike except a KTM to be satisfying enough, or powerfull enough or peppy enough.
