  • A bike with back comfort.

I am 37 years old having a splendor. My office is around 50 (25+25) km journey from my home. Half of the travel is highways and half in areas with traffic jams. Lately I am having pain in my lower back which goes away if I do not use my bike. I believe it is due to the stiff seat of splendor. Even riding with a straight back does not help. I have 3 options in this case.
    1. Go to office by bus. Since office bus is too early and I prefer to reach at least a couple of hours late than it's reaching time, I hate this option. Would use it only if absolutely necessary. This is the cheapest option.
    2. Use my car. But since it is a petrol, spending 4 liters daily is really not desirable, though I can afford it. This is the most expensive option.
    3. Sell my bike and purchase a new bike which will provide comfort to lower back. I would need to purchase a bike anyway, since my splendor is now 8 years old.
What would be the best bike for me to purchase if I want to select option 3?
    Here are other details
    a. Budget - would not like to go beyond 1 Lac (plus 10k if required). the cheaper, the better.
    b. fuel efficiency - would like to get maximum (whatever possible) though this is not priority. 45/50 would be a good number assuming power is good.
    c. Type of bike - not interested in bikes where i would have to lean ahead and ride, am not interested in sports bike (am not intersted in 0 to 60 statistics). Would like a bike where i can rode in a straight position.
    d. maintenance - have absolutely no idea about anything in a bike. so would like a hassle free bike
    e. do dealers provide an exchange deal (to sell my splendor)?
    f. power - anything above 150 should do.
    g. Is there any scooter that provides good fuel efficiency (e.g. 50 km) and back comfort? I have an access at home as well (for wife) but it fails on both the counts.
    Thanks in advance.

My suggestions would be Karizma ZMR, Honda Unicorn and Suzuki GS150R. Have you considered these?

        unicorn,dazzler,gs 150 r, cbz,hunk,achiever,sz-r,zma ,zmr can fulfill your needs.
i am not really fond of exchanging bike at dealerships, they quote the least possible price.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
        #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

Thanks a lot. I would go for test drive of most of these (except probably yamaha whose' mileage, I have heard, is a lot less than others).
Few more questions if somebody would kindly answer:
          1. Is mono-suspension (e.g. unicorn) really better than dual (e.g. hunk)? Does it affect in comfort to back/lower-back on long drives or on bumpy drives?
          2. Are cruisers such as Avenger or TBTS better than the bikes mentioned above in terms of comfort?
          3. Should I wait for P200NS? The features seem so attractive when compared to most others!

monoshock is any day better .but a well-sorted dual shocks can be as good as monoshock if not better.
