  • 50 kilos take on Iron 883?

I'm keen on an Iron 883.

Prob: I'm a 40 yr old woman who weighs 50 kilos! Have an Avenger now- main use will be the 1km odd trip to work on concrete road. And then, hopefully, some long road trips.

Want some advice on this. To buy or not to buy. Pros and cons, etc.

Its simply not worth it for the distance you ride...unless you have loads of money, want to show off or boundless passion!!!

Since you already have an Avy, the 883 will be a good upgrade. With some practice you will be able to manage its heavier weight and handling. Once you are confident on shorter rides you can think of doing longer distances.

Cons will be - you may have to find secure parking where ever you want to take it.

If you can afford it, get it!

If you like it, you want it, you can afford it, then why not? Just make sure you take it out for decent rides on a regular basis and enjoy. It's also a considerable upgrade from an Avenger and looks pretty good, I had seen two of these recently in Goa, they also have a great road presence.
Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

            Is this question for real?

If you are planning to do a kilometre ride everyday, IMHO a bike in the first sense is unnecessary Or else if you have lots of money and want to put a showpiece in your garage which you rarely use go ahead

            Bajaj Pulsar 180 - dts i |
            Bajaj CT 100

Sometimes it takes a whole tankful of fuel before you can think straight.

It was not that far on the map.

If you are planning to go on longer rides on the Iron, I would suggest you to at least start off doing that on your Avenger just to see if you feel comfortable / safe. If you do not feel safe on this, you won't feel safe on the Harley and the bike will become more a 'liability' and less an 'object of pleasure'.

It is highly impractical to buy a 7lac bike for just using it as a 2km (return) commute.

But if however you are already doing longer rides (200km+) on your Avenger already AND find it inadequately powerful AND want the Harley as an upgrade, then please go ahead and get yourself the bike you love.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

when you are spending 7 lac odd money don't just ride 2 km daily.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.

#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.
