  • Need HELP - Buy a Enfield 500 or KTM

    Hi,
I am from Hyderabad...I frequently change my bike and never usa a bike for more than 2 years, the only bikes which i have used for more than 3 years are ROYAL ENFIELD - ELECTRA 350 (PASSION) & PULSAR - 220 (NO-Choice). The reason behind change from Enfield to PULSAR is due to the traffic in hyderabad as i have to travel approx 45-50 KMS 1 way to my office which i am still doing

Believe me my ride on a enfield was great and never used to get tired...i have done this shuttle for almost 2 years...over a period of time...the traffic had increased and the manoveuring has become difficult...hence changed to PULSAR 220, have used this for 4 + years...wanted to change as i was not that happy with the comfort levels but didnot have a option other than bullet.

Now i feel it is high time and look for a change, but not able to decide between RE-DESERT STORM - 500 VS KTM Duke 200 (as the delivery timelines of RE - 7-9 months).

Want all you friends to advice me how to go about it...

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

The way I see it, in Duke you get almost everything you need except for Passion, of course. Duke should be an entertaining ride, and it has good maneuverability compared to RE. Riding position is quite acceptable for city rides.

So, in a way, Duke can be a substitute for RE, if you are ok with the regular gearshifting.

The other feasible way is to keep your Pulsar intact, and now go for Desert Storm. After all, if RE is your passion, then you can make do with Pulsar too for some more years, isn't it?

bhai, what/why help is needed? just decide what is more important for you. comfort or maneuverability? (leave your passion aside for a sec..)

(but will that RE-DS will be that much difficult in bumper-to-bumper traffic? I don't think so... )

if commuting is your main criteria why not choose a simple bike like 150 cc,180 cc out there?
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
          #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

one way 45kms-50kms that means 90-100 kms both side and the average RE or P220 would give is 35-40kmpl. i am too with the brother here asked "why not a 150or 180cc??" I guess you should think for average related bike as we seen in India fuel prices are more high than any prospect growth to country.

Down the line in coming near future 2yrs Petrol will be Rs100/ltr.

Even then your heart beats for higher cc than you can opt for RE, comfort would be always great..following with KTM. Or Even Awenger is good to ride and comfrotable. But the questions is again will 35-40kmpl will do to you??
