  • Opting for an E-Bike.

Hey guys, I've been wanting to get an e-bike for a while, but I'm on the heavy side at 110Kg's and ride upto 80Kms(Total) a day, so wanted to know whether theres any particular model suitable for my use. I've already looked into the Street Rider model from BSA but it seems that they only give a mileage of 60Kms. Which is not acceptable in my case, and recently have also seen models from a brand called Amphere, but dont know where to source them. So was hoping everyone here who've ever owned an ebike could advice me on making a selection that'd fulfill all my above mentioned criterias. Thanks in advance.

    What Bike Query Approved
I doubt you will be able to find a suitable electric bike for 80km/day usage. I am afraid but Petrol will still turn out cheaper to run and keep and not to mention, much more convenient
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Not to discourage you but I dont think you will find an e-bike for your requirement. Most of the e-bikes today will have a range of 60 - 80 KM. Even if you get one, the speeds will be comparatively lesser than the usual ones, as you keep using the bike the battery life will reduce leading to lesser range. And most importantly our cities do not have the sufficient infra for charging easily in public places and pay for it. As antz said, petrol would be cheaper and more convenient for your case.

Oh, thanks guys. Even before posting I expected the outcome to be something like this, cause even though the showroom people claim 100Kms mileage the end user mileage will surely vary, especially while climbing inclines and riding fast. But my curiousity lies in a brand called Amphere, its abit over sized and users have claimed to give a mileage of 80Km's+ I've tried searching for it but the only showrooms I know are of Hero and Bsa. Hence wanted to know whether you guys could shed some light on that. BTW I liked Street Rider, but pushing it away due to the mileage factor alone.

dont even think of ebike it has least top speed.
top speed of ebike=minimum average speed of petrol bikes.
considering 80kms daily u will be spending around 3-4 Hours on travelling if u opt for e-bike
and if you opt for petrol bike u will be spending only 1-2 hrs only.
If time doesn't matter for you then go for ebike.

LOl, me still a student, so money matters. Anyways the idea is on hold untill I find an ebike which can satisfy all my necessities being the mileage the first preferrance, cause the remaining factors like top speed, weight etc can be managed. So untill a valid contender arises I'd be more than happy riding my PBike.
