Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

      vespa is a fun scooter.
that said few things like side footrest has not yet been developed. still in design phase.
the brakes don't give the confidence but with proper technique i am sure you won't have much troubles in panic braking!
i own a red chianti color and am having fun with it : )
the closest scooter to it is i find tvs wego. great VFM.
but my heart chose for vespa

      : )
      best of luck.
      happy shopping.

        oh yes.
the service center guy says that a disc brake model is due later in this year.
you can upgrade the scooter laters if you plan to buy sooner.

Consider Honda Aviator Disc Brake edition. Only Indian mass-market scooter with front disc, and its really a safety feature you will enjoy. Overpriced at 60k onroad though. Otherwise there is Mahindra Rodeo RZ, another interesting new launch that has 8BHP power, 9NM torque and ARAI mileage of 60 (so expect over 50). And whatever you buy, avoid wego.

I said this before and will say it again. In terms of power (around 8-9 BHP), mileage (around 40-45), gear (CVT) and brakes (front and rear 130mm dia drums except aviator that has front disc) all Indian scooters are boringly and hopelessly identical. Choose one with nearest/best service station!!
Currently without a vehicle. Uber App and Bangalore Metro serving all my travel needs.

Thank you very much for your advice

            Does anybody bought new dio??

            i love the design

LX 125 is big no because it is overpriced & not fully tested(took test drive yesterday, front brake is of no use & lot of things were missing like footrest etc )

Aviator is a good buy but again sitting hight is high & also full fiber body
& not to mention pricing is high

The new Rodeo is claimed to give a mileage close to 60Kmpl.

But the best VFM is the TVS Wego, awesome to ride, and superb handling as well. The best part was that the scoot dives when we brake hard instead of the rest which hops. The power delivery was also awesome, though found it abit too linear, guess its cause of the bigger 12' tires, which makes it a thrill to ride on highways. Overall at a price of 55K OTR, nothing beats it.

i too agree that TVS wego is a great value for money.
don't know about their after sales service.
the only negative i found with wego was it troubles in cold start.
                not a big issue though.
but my heart prevailed over sense and i bought a vespa.
                loving it

There was a 6 Scooter Comparo between

Activa Vs Maestro Vs Vespa Vs Dio Vs Wego Vs Swish

On Overdrive aired on 25th June.

Swish won that particular comparo. You can watch it all here.

I saw that comparison & was so amazed to see the replies by fellow members that no one even mentioned about Suzuki Swish..its a brilliant scooter with good performance..decent styling & nice handling..
Though if I would have to buy a scooter then my love is DIO even when i found it not so smooth in comparison with its own sibling Activa after a TD..

Since you had no problem with Vespa LX125 (though now you do) I thought you don't mind overpriced scooters. Sorry then, will recommend only VFM products

Beg to disagree. Have a Wego at home. I agree it offers a better ride than Activa, but its only slightly less boring and has lesser mileage than Activa. Only advantage is low seat that girls will like (and I found very cramped).

And yes, I did not mention Swish because you asked for max mileage and swish has same access125 engine that returns around 40kmpl which is least among scooters. But for performance, go ahead and buy Swish blindly!

Mileage there is Rodeo RZ (which also has a digital instrument cluster).

Most refined engine is found in honda scooters, since all have same engine, Dio is best as its cheapest (also best looking).

Wego is a jack-of-all but king of none. I would advice you to stay away from it unless you want a well rounded scooter. My sister would kill me if she read this, because unlike me she finds it really good so opinion varies.

For practicality with zero brag factor I suggest proven 60kmpl mileage and spirited ride moped TVS XL-50

Test ride all the above. But be warned that the scooters suck and seem underpowered in run-in period, (when bought, wego felt really sluggish but now easily beats activa in acceleration) but improve after 2nd service. So either TD well ridden vehicles at showroom, or ask your friends for some time with their scooters.

test driven it yesterday feels much better than previous gen DIO
styling is best but i felt the colors are too bright unlike the old which has
black, grey metallic ,silver etc now these colors are not available

                        chosen the Matt finish grey
