  • Confused between 3 beasts !!!

    Hello Xbhp members !!
well before starting let me give you guys a short intro about me!!!
i m from mumbai working in a social media company named "Gozoop" and crazy about bikes. i have just owned one bike so far that is stunner having partnership with one of my jigri yaar!! now the stunner is sold out and wanna buy a new bike!!!

i have a lean body not too slim .. not too fat .. my height is 5'11"
my budget is 95k.. need a bike which has comfort not like the stunner which had a "pain in the butt" seat.. really got bugged up with it!!
mileage is not much of a concern 40 kmpl is enough for me..
i have liking towards 3 bikes hero karizma R (yellow and white color), yamaha FZ, honda unicorn..
My first choice is Yamaha FZ (Just love the way it looks)
second choice karizma(i liked its smoothness and refinement very much) and the last option unicorn..
i travel daily for 45kms.. city and highway combined riding..
karizma is a tourer and 45 kms for a day is a piece of cake for it..

will FZ and unicorn perform daily for 45 kms and give me a hassle free ride.. coz travelling 45kms daily the engine shd not get tired and result in problem later..
i want a bike to be with me for at least 5-6 years..
help me guys ..to clear my confusion.. really need help and wanna buy my bike soon.. within 2 months.. i will be done with my savings by that time..

    regards and thanks in advance

Did you consider the Pulsar 200NS?

with that kinda budget you can have a look at p200ns.
now coming to your point, munching 45km a day is not a big deal for any indian bike starting from splendor to ninja.
your mileage requirement is not that much ,you need comfort, style,fz ticks those boxes.lastly if you are ready to accept unicorn there is nothing like it.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

4.2K more and you get the mighty P200NS all confusion gone
        Else settle for Karizma R.
        Whats there in a signature?

Okay .. so travelling 45 kms per day is not a problem for any bike.. thanks sayank for letting me know this
frankly speaking i did not liked the look of p200ns.. personal view no issues to anyone.. the bike is great.. heard a lot about it though i have not rode this bike so far..
Karizma R is a good option but i need tubeless tyres which teh karizma R lacks.. so yamaha FZ is my final decision !! and i have always had a liking towards this bike since it was launched
the color choice is a confusion .. the new White and blue colored fzs or the original FZ black ... i liked no other color than these two .. just asking for suggestion.. when i buy my FZ will surely upload the pics of my Beast

What difference does it makes in tubeless and normal tyres ??
My friends mostly say go for tubeless tyres bike.. and the reason i am hesitating to buy a karizma R is because .. m a rookie rider and i dont wanna race or cross the speed of 100kmph.. i will b riding at a constant speed of 60 - 70 kmph .. as m scared of speed..
and FZ is designed for low and mid range torque and even read that it struggles to reach the 3 digit speed mark.. but has an awesome road grip and the best braking so far.. so its good to be on the safer side and ride confidently

good choice.you can opt for the limited edition yellow or orange colour.
tubeless tyres just give you peace of mind. you can buy karizma and swap the tyres with tubeless ones.
and the question remains why do i race?

The only difference I could notice between T/L & T/T tyre is you need to get the puctured repaired then and there in tyre with tube. You can use the tubeless for some distance with the nail still inside the tyre. And secondly, you can repair tubeless tyres puncture by yourself if you have a tyre repair kit and without taking the tyre off the bike.

Ok here are my 2 cents :-
Karizma:- its like the toyota hilux of indian bikes, simply indestructible but all the inscrutability comes only in the form of the engine ,the fibre are simply put "awful" I have a ZMA from the past 4 years and there isnt a single fibre part which isnt broken and besides the bike is severely outdated.I can still take her out on the highway do a 400 kms daily roundabout and still wouldn't feel tired and neither would the bike feel stressed. its one of the best tourers out there if not the best for everything else you would compromise here and there.Spare parts are quite expensive as well.
FZ :- good looks and as you already figured out has good low and mid range ,would leave you wanting for more at high speeds.
I haven't ridden the unicorn much so cant really comment on that.

I do appreciate the fact that you are being cautious in terms of going for a powerful bike since you are a rookie but assuming that you become a good rider in the times to come you would want something more powerful ,in that scenario both fazer/fz or unicorn would disappoint you and since you would keep your bike for the next 5-6 years I would suggest dont really look in any of the options that you have thought about (and you can kill me now for making you more confused )

what ill humbly suggest is look at the pulsar 200 ns or the pulsar 220 both fit in your budget.
pulsar 220:- my bro has it so I have spent quite some time with it ,a wonderful machine ,not really as refined as the ones you are thinking about but it gives you great rush while riding .is better equipped than all the three bikes that you have mentioned as well.would be easy on pocket as well.
Pulsar 200 NS:-Though I might have jumped the gun when I say this but I honestly think this is the best bike under 1 lakh.except for FI ,I dont think the bike lacks anything. You can always play jacklye and hyde with this bike and it would keep you entertained although a pulsar 220 is more engaging to ride.

So without much ado ,ill suggest you keep these 2 options as well in your list ,TD all of them and take your call

Hmm... pulsar 220 was not on my list .. and it is too common on the road and dont like its engine sound !! personal view !!
A lot of people are saying good about the 200 ns.. will test ride it and get the experience.. and does 200 ns comes with ABS option and gives a mileage of 36 in city and 58 on highways .. read on some blog regarding pulsars!! strange and shocked !!

                        Thanks

                          Ha ha ha... ROFL!!!
No man, the 200NS may have 3 spark plugs, but not an ABS.
The only bikes to have an (optional) ABS are RTR 180 and CBR 250R.

Mileage of 36 in city is quite possible if you rip her hard.
Can't comment on the 58 kmpl on highway. Might be true. My 223 cc returned 51 kmpl on the highway once....

EDIT - Pls provide the link to the forum/website where you read about the ABS thingy.

Not only do these frauds say that 200NS has optional ABS, they specify that ex-showroom price (Delhi) is 85K.
