I will keep this bike as long as i don't have any issues.. I want to go for a car instead of buying another bike and I want to use both in parallel for life time(may thats too big word, I can say 10 + years) based on need..

Unicorn production is not stopped AFAIK. Coz my friend just bought a unicorn last month.
Both Dazzler and unicorn are on sale,
in bang Waiting period for Dazzler is 3 MONTHS and for CB-Unicorn its 15 DAYS

@Thread Starter: If PURE Biking is not wat you are looking for then why go for a costly(relatively) bike like NS, if you just want a side bike you have to decide wats it for, Like the Bike will be used for grocery shopping while the car will do the weekend joyrides or vice versa...

          then choose the bike appropriately.

As quoted by 100s of XBHPians if maintained well, all modern bikes will last more than 10+ years or upto your life time or which ever is earlier.

I have an Apache 150, 50+K kms done still sparkling, Always had both the wheels on ground, well maintained and I hardly spent any money on it for the past 6yrs up until recently I got the fear on spares availability, so changed few stuffs like fork seals, spring, coneset, sprockets etc to preserve it well for the next coming years. I am 1000% sure it will run as new as day 1 for 10+ years.

Olden bikes were good but had rust issues and were not usable after a period of time like the Samurai,KB,RX etc. The next concern to run a bike for long term is spares availability. Rust issues have been taken care with the modern painting techniques and alloy wheels. So spares availability is what the major concern is.

The below comparison is not in terms of performance, coz I am sure you know that difference...

            1) Unicorn from HONDA has proved about 8+ years, though the older ones suffered rust issues. (Which was addressed after the 2007 models) So no doubt , you can be sure about it, coz hardly anything has changed in a decade. I am sure this bike will be in India and break the record of Splendor or even the Ambassador.

            2) Bajaj known for its R&D making through customer's pocket, has ended up with Pulsar 200NS, the most stable, non-pulsar like pulsar. P200NS is currently on its initial run-in and has proved to be fine and holds more likes in XBHP. Not many issues quoted, but still has a long way to prove successful (I hope it will). But still P200NS is a gamble if you look at it in terms of reliability.

Coz Bajaj is one company which will produce a bike today and advertise it as like a German car and 2 months later an UG2.550 will come and the old bike will be washed out and poor customers have to hunt for spares. (Same in the case of TVS too). But the P200NS may be an exception, which can be confirmed only after a 1 or 2 years.

            Moral of the story.

Honda - Holds heritage and wisdom on how to design a bike, hence one basic design/Engine for its life time and later will be sticker-ed.
Bajaj - Still in the learning curve.

I am surprised you left out yamaha from your list.. Those are the ones which last a lifetime!! ;-)

10+ is easily doable on every tested machine. 200NS is still to celebrate its B'day so stay away from that stuff. People will jump into telling you its very good. But i will ask has it proved itself? Not yet, is the answere.
After going through KTM 200 thread, one would realise maintenance costs/time is quite high in these high end machines.

For all your criteria in mind I would vote for a KarizmaR. No matter how rash you ride that machine, it would still do a 10 year stint without hassles.

+1 There is absolutely no comparison between Bajaj and Honda. It was always Honda and it still is.

First decide whether you want a 150cc or >150cc. Else there will be a lot of suggestion by many people.

And 10yrs or so, now is not possible in this open arm biking models every year. Now we have more options coming up day to day! Who knows tomorrow diesel bike comes out then ??
even Honda is introducing new models so Unicorn has a chance to disappear as Dazzler is there to take it's place!!

GS150 Is new and sucess model from Suzuki.

Pls explain "it shouldn't be always with mechanic"

For now, I take it that, you'll do general servicing, for which, you'll need workshop manual & all the necessary tools. Hope you're aware of it.

At present, what motorcycle do you own & who maintains it?

                          Hi,
Finally I am stuck between Pulsar 200Ns and GS 150R.

Any idea when is the next version of GS 150R would be available as the current model is introduced exactly the same time last year ?

Also, I don't like Open chain for bikes as it needs more maintenance. Can we get the 200Ns chain get completely covered ?

Right, but are you servicing them now?

I don't know what's to get struck? If I were you, I would simply choose 200NS over 150R for...
                            1. Wide spread ASC
                            2. Better technology
                            3. Brand

Not a good idea; its easier to maintain them unless you're talking about the possibility of riding in Rohtang pass everyday

Have you decided first on which platform you need a bike ?
                              150cc or 200cc or >200cc??

                              What is your budget??
See running in all corners will make you more confused. NS200 has it's own characteristic where as GS has it's own, So first decide what you are looking for then we can gyuide you with all stuffs dude!! Else we will Say NS200 is best as it's more advance than GS150, so few will say GS is more mileage deliver with good comfort ride, So to stop this confusion get focus on needs so we can say you, if you are open for higher cc then let us know and what budget??

I am looking for a bike with 150 CC or more and it should be VFM. Mileage should be 40 +
                                Budget - 1 Lakh.

As I said the bike should have good build quality and durability/reliability.
