  • Yamaha Fazer~Competition White 2011 vs 2012

    Hi Guys,

I like the Fazer competition white which was released in 2011 so much. And I was confused with the new Fazer competition white released in 2012 with some minor changes.

    Such as
    Dual clutch cables
    Chain Protector
    Long Fender
    Lengthy Pillion
Reduced Torque (They say for mileage purpose)

Should I go with the new one? I don't like the graphic in the new model, though. Need your suggestion guys.

    Thanks a lot!

I don't know who is spreading these rumors but the torque has remained unchanged. It was ALWAYS 13.6NM since 2008. The POWER was 14PS and some people have confused the power with torque.

      Seniors may confirm.

I had a FZ before, been stalking it since launch and bought it about 8months later. When I first got the brochure it was 14PS and 14Nm. Dont know exactly when but by the time fazer rolled out(my friend got it) the power figures mentioned on all brochures was 14PS and 13.6Nm. And it has been so since.

          get the 2012 model.
the features listed will be useful and will be difficult to add on to the older model.
the looks(graphics) is something you will get over sooner than latter.

i got my second edition FZ in such a state,i liked the 'FZ' written in the first edition but just had to live with and slowly started liking the one i had.

Are you talking about Second hand buy Vs New ??because you won't get the initial model as stocked for you by any dealer!!

Go for new one, even if there was a difference in torque then that's negligible!! 0.4 NM won't make a difference while riding it!!
Get a new and enjoy the Yamaha, it's real comfortable and fun to ride!!
If you are a Yamaha fan then only go for Frazer else you will get Dazzler with better mileage and dual disc with good re-sale in same price!!
Frazer and Dazzler are priced very similarar to 85-87k OTR

where will he get the old stock as new?? He has to go for second hand.

It doesn't make sense going for second hand bike!!

                @somen1984

                Thanks for answering bud!

Actually only the old model is in display in majority of the showrooms. I wonder when they have all the variants which are released in 2012 for display, they don't have the competition white for display. Is there any particular reason? The sales person told me that only the good moving bikes would be kept in display! Yes of course everyone knows, but this model is so new. I never seen this one on the road whereas I can see so many white-silver version (I'm lovin it) on road.

                Thanks,

Mostly people don't buy white becuase they get dirty very soon and in display they will keep anything sparkling, so i guess this might be the reason for no competition white in display. But in Mumbai Showroom there are white Frazers on display but din't see from close.

and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

not seeing white has nothing to do with being colour blind.
and the question remains why do i race?

They brought a new white to the showroom after I booked it. Today I went to see the white in the showroom but the guy told me that someone was so much attracted to it and ride it home by paying the full cash. I don't think he is lying. So, I should go again tomorrow because the guy told me that he would get another one from the showroom.

And yes, white is more attractive and the tastes differ for all.

                              Thanks,
