    Need advice on buying a bike under INR 1 lakh for a tall rider

    Hi guys.
    I am Rahul and I need your advice in buying a bike which suits my tall frame and is also easy to maneuver in heavy city traffic. A major part of my travelling will be in city. Looks and style is one of my primary concerns(along with decent mileage). Both Royal Enfield and Karizma will not give me enough mileage in Pune Traffic, so I have not considered them as options. The bike that i have considered as one in my list is Pulsar 200 NS.

    Here are some additional info:
    My budget- Under Rs 1 Lakh
    My height and build: 6ft 3in, heavy
    KM I travel everyday(on an average): approx. 35 km
    Expected FE: Above 40 kmpl
    Resale value expectation: Decent

      What makes you think that NS200 will give you more than 40-45kmpl in city and so called Pune traffic??
      Karizma and NS200 will be almost same in mileage. But NS200 is more advance then Karizma.
      NS200 is absolutely suitable to you in all ways apart from the average you wil get average close to 35kmpl in traffic, Highway would be close 40-45kmpl, It's a 200cc with good Speed and power and features!! So expecting 35kmpl is logical and getting anything above that is Bonus. NS is goof in terms of handling in city too, affordable spares and SVC.

      I guess NS200 will get a good re-sale but don't know still it's a Bajaj.

      Don't know but Indians mostly prefer Hero, Honda only for re-sale bikes. No even Yamaha is FZ is getting an air in indian market.

        ^^^^^^^^^^in second hand market bajaj too has high re-sale value.
        and the question remains why do i race?
        every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

        #i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
        #overkill is underrated.
        #how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
        #i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road
        (:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

          Re-sale depends on popularity/success of the particular model in the market, Pulsar commands very good resale value in the market.

            It can be but here i have seen many P150 and P180 going for 30k in 2 yrs. 3yrs old P220 my friend sold it after 1 yr full struggle for better price for 28K, Yes there would be exceptions too.

            Where as the Hero and Honda get good resale for splendour also, one man sold is 5 yrs old splendour for 25k, Kool Na!!

            NS200 is best in 1L, re-sale matters comes after 3-5 yrs, so enjoy first!!

                    I think as other pointed out, 200NS and karizma fits the bill. as per test details given on this months overdrive magzine, the 200NS returns 30kmpl in city and 40kmpl on Highway as compare to karizma's 40kmpl in city and 54kmpl on highway.both bikes have almost the same performance. karizma is a proven bike over the years with its engine good at good low-mid range torque but also looks bit dated....while NS is fresh design and linear power delivery. so if looks matter the most then go for 200NS else karizma is a proven work horse.
