  • New Honda Dio OR the Suzuki Swish??

    Hi Guys,

Please suggest a gear less scooter form among the below candidates:

    1) Honda Dio (new)
    2) Suzuki Swish
    3) Tvs Wego (on popular demand)

    User :

Myself, a 33yr old male. Already have a CBR250 and a Honda City. Need this primarily for running small errands close to home. Very low usage expected less than 3~5kms per day.

    My Top Priorities :

    - Comfortable low speed ride on bad (read pot holed) roads.
    - Good headlight illumination
    - Trouble free & dependable
    - Stylish looks
    - Responsiveness

    Not so important :

    - Fuel Economy (Mileage)
    - On road Price

The Honda Aviator DLX was initially on the top of my list, but i had to strike it off after riding one belonging to my friend as I found the seat height a tad too high

So guys, please do give your suggestions and share any feedback / tips regarding any of the above models.

    Vicky

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

        My Top Priorities :

        - Comfortable low speed ride on bad (read pot holed) roads.
Swish has telescopic forks so better ride quality
        - Good headlight illumination
        Not sure
        - Trouble free & dependable
        Both are equal
        - Stylish looks
IMO New Dio looks way cooler than Swish
        - Responsiveness
For performance Swish IMO only non boring scooter other than Mahindra Rodeo

for Swish check Suzuki website to know the price at your city,i think Honda is less costly.

If you can ride CBR250R comfortably how do you find Aviator seat high ?

For ride quality on horrible roads, I think both Dio and Swish may be avoided. Their 10" wheels would cause relatively more discomfort (by feeling the smallest pothole) and 12" wheels of a Wego (which also has lower seat height btw) would do some good in this domain. It also has telescopic suspension.
Currently without a vehicle. Uber App and Bangalore Metro serving all my travel needs.

ditch them both,go for tvs wego, else swish it is
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

              Update..

Called up the local Suzuki Dealership and inquired if they had a white Swish in stock.

And they promptly sent over a brand new Pearl White Swish for a test drive

              Positives:

+ Good looks. Doesn't look feminine at all.
              + Peppy and responsive engine
+ Very large under seat storage
+ Felt pretty well built overall
+ Headlight spread & illumination was not spectacular but acceptable
+ Body graphics stickers are not laminated, so easy to take off
+ Under seat storage opens from the main ignition lock

              Negatives:
              - Hard suspension results in harsh ride on broken roads
              - Brakes felt wooden (but maybe they were yet to set in as it was a brand new vehicle)
              - No Combi-Brake feature
              - Very old gen tyres (MRF)

Will test ride the Dio tomorrow...

why dont you throw vespa and yamaha ray to the mix...

one of these would be cool addition to your already cool garage...

the suzuki access/swish or wego are also very comfortable and decent city rides...but avaitor has best ride of all scooters.

among those you mentioned wego has the best ride quality .....havent driven the swish but access offered decent ride quality...i imagine it being similar to the swish...swish looks pretty good too.

if you like the swish just go for it.........

                    @coolharsh

with comfort being main criteria, i really doubt maestro will provide good shock absorption as maestro does not have telescopic front suspension....

Yes, the maestro have dual-linked shock absorbers as the front suspension, but believe me..they will provide good shock absorption...!

Any time a Hero mopped as compare to any other one, MAjestro is nice and has best spread Hero SVC all over!! It's nice and reliable with combi brakes!!

Put the Dio out of your shortlist.
The suspension is rock hard(Activa is waaay better) and the headlight illumination is pathetic.
Get the Dio if you want the looks and Tubeless tyres else get an Access/Swish.
                            Grocery shopping:2010 Honda Dio.

It depends upon the way you use and ride.... I am using Access for the past 2 years(clocked 20k km) and definitely it will satisfy your ride with lots of power and it will never disappoint u.And coming to suspension abd brakes you cannot expect lot from scooter as it has a shorter radius level of the wheel. And do check and get a feed back from owners(in ur area) whether the suzuki service center in your place is good or not.... Maintaining the bike speaks a lot at last...
