  • HH CD deluxe or Yamaha YBR 110 for my DAD

    Hi
I want to change my dad's bike. He is a senior citizen and short in built (5'5"). Here are his requirements.
    • Self start
    • Very good mileage - 60+ kms/l
    • Not a heavy bike to handle.
    • rides about 10-15kms/day which should be comfortable.
    • 125 cc or below.

    Thanks in advance

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

honda's latest offering dream yuga should be your choice.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
      #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

For that height best ride is Suzuki Hayate. Its much much better than the Dream Yuga too btw (I tried both) and feels a lot smoother than anything else.

Generally, they will want a reliable motorcycle. I'd go with Honda.

Go for gearless, if that is an option.

I do agree with you but the catch is that my dad is a hardcore biker from his young age. He hates gearless scooters/mopeds. He now rides RX135 and his old and trusted M80. Now he is not able to kick start the bike so he is opting for a selfstart. I think now you know my problem.

Please tell your father to try out Discover 125ST or 150. Both fit the bill w.r.t. requirements. Will be comfy and light and zippy to use in traffic. The added benefit is that those bikes won't feel like as big a downgrade from the RX135 as, say, a 100/110cc commuter. The FE will be in the 55-60kmpl range for the D150, slightly higher for the 125ST. Edit: And pricing for both is a bit less than the highest selling 125cc bike in India (Honda Shine).

+1 to that. They both pull a LOT better, its not the jerk of RX135 but the power sufficient to put a smile on the face when you ALSO look at the mileage they offer which is double that of RX135 at the cost of bit lesser power
