  • Which Cruiser Bike??

    Hi Friends,

Currently i have Bajaj Avenger 200cc. And i am planing to buy a new bike but confused over RE Thunderbird of the upcoming Hyosung GV250.

Bike Guru's please let me know is it worth to wait for Hyosung GV250 or should i book RE Thunderbird because waiting period is near about 6 to 10 months in my city.

    What Bike Query Approved

First of all, Welcome to xBHP.

Coming to your query, both Thunderbird and GV250 are totally different bikes. If you want the same seating position as your current Avenger 200, wait it out for the GV250. It will offer you a similar riding position and will be a good upgrade overall in terms of equipment and horsepower. Plus, you get actual flaunt value of a V-Twin!!

If however you feel the current seating position is flawed and you want to go back to a commuterish position, pick the Thunderbird instead. But do remember, the Thunderbird makes only as much horsepower as your current steed and you might have to adopt a more sedate riding style (even though I don't know your riding style right now) in order to overcome the inherent flaws of an RE.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Welcome to Xbhp. IMO your query has been perfectly answered by Antz.

TBTS has a more commuterish stanz and speaking in strict sense, I dont see it to be an upgrade over the Avenger (even the 200cc). Avenger has quite decent power on tap and the TBTS wouldn't feel an upgrade over it in performance. Nor will it be an upgrade in terms of refinement product quality etc.

However if you are not comfortable with the Avenger's seating style (I know quite a few people who think Avenger is not comfortable, and being an avenger 220 owner myself,I know the seating comfort is highly over-rated) then think of the TBTS.

If the seating doesn't bother you, wait for the Hyosung. At around 28 Bhp it would be much more powerful than the Enfield.
      Its not always about speed.

+1, TBTS scores over Avenger in seating comfort(way better), slightly better pulling power, but lacks refinement and power delivery. It can be considered as an upgrade in terms of size. I would say wait for some more time for either the GV250 or the Thunderbird 500.

the latest on TB is that the new version is going to be out in 2-3 months time. And dealerships are not taking bookings for the current model.

            Thanks guys,
actully i am preety satisfied with the perfomance of avenger and the sitting position.

About Hyosung GV250 i like the looks and engine power but i am confused about the service network of the Hyosung. i have checked on DSK website there is no dealer available in delhi or in gurgaon. That is one of the reason i am thinking to buy TBTS. Also not sure about the launch of TBTS 500 launch date.
If anybody has dealer contact details of hyosung near by delhi please let me know.
