  • Considering getting Suzuki Hayate.

    Hi All,

I'm thinking of getting a smaller bike and among the choices available, Suzuki Hayate seems good. 110cc,~8hp and onroad price of ~48K in Bangalore.
Could not find any good reviews on it, wondering the reason for it.

Please comment about the after sales service, spares availability of the same from Suzuki. Is Hayate the best offering in its price range?

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

I test rode this bike when I went over to the SVC to get my bike serviced and I felt the low end torque is good considering the small displacement engine. Spare availability is not a problem in Bangalore. The Aerolex motors on KH Road is the best SVC in my opinion. Suzuki offerings may not be advertised much but the quality is top notch. Do take a test ride. Honda Dream Yuga is another option, the base variant is available from 51k OTR Bangalore.
In today's world, quotes don't matter. Quotas do!

I feel if you are looking for small displacement, that means something good in mileage and very cheap on maintenance, right?? I guess you already own a CBR250 ?? If Yes!! then i think you shoudl seriously consider more cheaper options like Bajaj Platina or Discover 100 or Hero CD Delux, Splendour Pro or Yamaha's Crux etc....

I persoanlly feel as Petrol prices are hiking like growing corruption!! So go for any bike which gives >70kmpl practically and those are 100cc bikes only. And use your CBR for occasional weekend rides!! Even if the initial price of a bike is more than 50-60K an example, but average should be >70-75kmpl only!!! Else there won't be any practical difference between the expenditure or maintenance of your CBR or 100cc bike!!

          Thanks for your feedback.

The smaller bike will be for everyone in the family to use...and for me to take it to narrow streets, shopping, etc.
After weighing the options i decided to go for Honda DY (alloy version). Its costing me 57k INR OTR.

Have already booked a DreamY .
              Thanks for the article though.

DreamY was quite peppy to ride on, felt almost like my stock RX135. I have a feeling i'll like playing around with this one on city traffic.

nice comparison, both dream yuga and hayate seems to be better than splendor+, in every department.

                  right said Prince!!!

Suzuki has very limited SVC all over which is a pain for the owners!!

I would vote for Honda only because Honda has grown alot in all terms!!!
Hero was in my list for people, but as we can see Hero has shaking legs now, so it's better to stay off from them!!!

One of the factor i totally disregarded Hero was the fact that the ASS just does not sell the parts i want off the counter!.. They want every damn thing to be done with their person. Get a mirror for 100rs, and they add 50rs for service(screwing the nut). Suckers!
I can take care of most part of the maintenance for my bikes by myself.

Yeah ASS of any other brand is not even close to what is of Hero, closest one is Bajaj only..Suzuki lacks far behind & Honda is trying to catch up & might will in next few years.
other thing is that those bikes which were launched before HH & Honda dispute won't get affected much or not even a bit & Splendor is one of them..so there isn't any need to worry about its customers..parts will be available at SVC even for the newer models of HMC..

in that case i feel myself so lucky..last visit to HMC SVC for my ZMR cost me only 10rs which includes lubrication of chain..tightening of chain..re-fitting of RVM's..washing & then clean coat..& they maintained proper air pressure as well in both tyres themselves without even saying

                          Hello,

I bought Suzuki hayate 50 days back.It is awesome bike overall.
Suzuki was not an option when i was searching for bike which is lighter and easy to handle.I just TR it after dream yuga, as both honda, suzuki showrooms are near by .I like it very much after TR it.
I don't know about BHP's or any other tech specs.. But the pickup of the bike is great. And the engine is duper smooth,No sound at all.
I never crossed 60kmph .. But upto that mark, road grip and handling is very good.
Mileage was nit problem before first service.. But after first it is giving me 65+ in pure city conditions.. (Note : half of my commute is in 2,3 gears..)

I used passion pro, splendor+,pulsar 150 before.150cc was not my option because of my neck pain.. I chose this only because it is lighter and easy to handle. But after using it im 100% satisfied in all aspects.Overall it is super bike in this segment.

If you want a bike for city traffic..go for it ..

Below 50 thousands, suzuki hayate is best, say it engine, mileage or comfort. Cheq if good suzuki service centres are available and make a go for your choice.
