If you have listed your priorities in the decreasing order, please go for the Honda.Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Rider pillion comfort definitely CBR 150. Superb cornering fun R15.. they are more or less equally competent. I would say take a feedback of the after sales service of the both of the bikes in your locality. At a later stage it is not just about the bike but about post ownership care as well you take and you get from company certified svcs.

Where do you live?Originally posted by siddharthsure View PostThanks guys. Il investigate a bit. Am worried abt hondas service. Any cmnts on service of honda and yamaha????
Here in Bangalore,Yamaha is way better than Honda
IF you are riding in the city,Go for the R15 ,it has better usable low end midrange power.CBR is more suited for the highway.
Having ridden both,CBR feels a little sluggish in city.It has to be revved hard and the motor starts responding way past 7k rpm.So CBRs element is the highway.
However Mileage wise I feel the Honda has the edge.REVVADDICT

Hmm I dont think there is that much of a difference in the fuel efficiency ,to base your decision solely on that.Originally posted by siddharthsure View PostI live in chennai...... More concerned about mileage,so I think cbr is the best choice for me... Only thing yet to research is service..... By the way how is yamahas service?????
Service varies from dealer to dealer.Maybe some Chennai xbhpians can help you out there.REVVADDICT

If you stay in Chennai then do visit CBR250R thread and see Aargee's signature about honda and its service center reviews.. that man has indeed put up an exhaustive details pertaining to the brand and the model!!Originally posted by siddharthsure View PostI live in chennai...... Though not the model that you are looking forward to as an option (CBR150R) but will give you a good idea about the overall svc experience and what to look for in a new bike. The parameters will remain the same regarding Pre Delivery Inspection/PDI by the owner etc..
Yamaha, i am not aware of the svc experience.. but you can check with Chennai riders. Perhaps requesting R15 V2 owners from the ownership thread can help.
Although do keep in mind the CBR150R doesnot have a pass light unlike R15.. a major irritant however one can live with it..

Cmon Buddy,
You are opting for Premium Bikes so Mileage should only be considered as a Secondary Factor - Both are Par 1 lac Bikes investing so much on a Bike why looking Mileage (its only my Opinion)
But within these two bikes if you wanna mileage CBR will do. But both can only return you around 30 - 35. If you ride them like in 50-60 you may get 40ish.
Comfort = city riding CBR150 is good because R15 is a bit sporty, AFA Pillion Comfort also CBR150 has a slight edge.
Mileage = Already answered
Vibe Free Engine = Both the Bikes are Vibe Free.
Low Maintenance = Both are high on maintenance (Liquid cooling (Coolant levels needs to be maintained), City riding will heat up the engine a lot, Shifting gears will be more, FI bikes, need to make sure fuel is not drained, make sure water is not splashed over the FI unit)
Too much of technology too much of maintenance.
If you want to choose between the two go for CBR150.

Cool Man....Thanks...Am concerned about Mileage Bcz some ppl say R15 Returns 25-30 after it gets old( i mean 2 years or so)....Thats the only reason am concerned abt mileage and also i travel 50km Daily..If mileage decreases then it costs me a lot....Anyway thanks for u r great suggestion

CBR150R was my choice under this dilemma., for I positioned 'comfort' at first priority. For now, am in home and my mom can happily sit and ride with me as a pillion and i guess that's a dream in R15. Mileage, the max. period one has ever owned a 150R is about ~6months and he reports a mileage of 40kmpl ridden sanely. Go, see the bikes in person, TD both of them, and let the heart decide the option! The limiter kicks in @11,500 rpm just within a second after the first shift..And, that's where the fun begins !! ;)
