  • HONDA,YAMAHA,HERO bikes between Rs 60k and Rs 70k (OTR)

I'm posting this for a friend of mine.He will be buying one next month. He is very much concerned with the mileage and budget.
Since he is a college going guy,he don't prefer any passion pro or dream yuga, splendor and the like sort .
much Performance cannot be expected within this price range..still bhp between 10 and 15 is considered.
He only prefers a HONDA,YAMAHA OR HERO.
And most importantly....MILEAGE MUST BE ABOVE 60KMPL..and PRICE BETWEEN INR 60000 AND 70000

I've asked him to get a pulsar 135 LS or new discover 125 ST....for both power and mileage. But he seems to be very much brand conscious..
And yes, this will be his first bike.

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

for a brand concious guy stunner or ignitor is the pick.
for people like me who wants best bang for buck 135 ls is the way to go.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
          #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

60kmpl ...lol.... This means he is looking for 100-125cc only... Hardly any 150cc would give him 60 +kmpl.

I guess there is one bike which is little over his budget but good in performance and rest, G150r it's close to 75K OTR with an average of 55-60kmpl, check that i am not sure of price.

Else Yamaha SZr where he gets 150cc with good power, refined engine, comfort, braking and handling with decent 50-55kmpl for city.

There are few good bikes which are close to 60kmpl i.e Unicorn (80k+), P150(Bajaj), GS150r(75K), P135 (Bajaj)

Rest all are in commuter segments 125, 100cc

But my friends and local people say they get 50-55kmpl. This would be again due to them using it on highway and riding style!! But i sure SZr would give any time over 50kmpl.

My average mileage in mixed condition in city/highway at speeds of 60+ always, in past 11months is 42kmpl.
Clearly I can say, on a sedated ride I get 48-55kmpl.
There are no short-cuts to any place worth going. So ride safe when you are treading uncharted roads.

But he is not ready to go with a Bajaj. And one funny thing happened last day. I took him to the Bajaj outlet yesterday..I know the manager and other people there.I bought my NS from there and services it there and all...
We went and inquired about the 135LS, but they discouraged us. The manager said that 135LS is not a much moving product and said they would only suggest the new 125ST..!! (which is 2k less than 135LS !).

Anyways,my friend liked the new ST but he says his parents want him to go for a honda or hero commuter.

This morning he called to say, he is on the way to a Hero showroom..

I wonder why people are so brand conscious...? even in the 100 -125 cc commuter segment

I would suggest an eye candy in 125 segment - The Yamaha SS125. Though I would have personally preferred the 125ST.. SS125 is a nice package for the college (in the range provided)
