I find it true too. Only concern is Pillion comfort.

Test-ride the bike and also sit behind asking the Sales-rep to ride and then decide.
Frankly, the R15's rear bench is comfy(better than the Duke) but it's too damn high!

Yes, it damn high thats the problem but this maintains it sporty looks. I have already tried its rear sit on a friend's bike and its really risky for a city ride with continuous stop and go.

I was in the same dilemma and went for the CBR simply because it had a good seating position for both the rider and pillion for me. In R15V2, pillion rider is a poor soul.

            Depends who your pillion is

So without a Kill Switch is it okay to ride a bike like CBR 150, and what about mileage ?.

After riding it for a month, I can say a killswitch is greatly overrated. Even Karizma R didn't have it, then why the undue attention on CBR150R? If you like the rest of the bike, buy it. Killswitch can be retrofitted anyway (might affect warranty,so do it immediately after warranty, if you're so keen).

Mileage was 38 with constant ripping and speeds of 115+, 40 in city. I reckon you can get 45 on highways if you ride at 60-80 kmph, but then what's the point of getting a CBR, right?

Yes, mileage should not be the issue while buying a Sports bike. But features should be reviewed for a bike cost over a Lakh. And to me Yamaha did a good job on Painting and Features. But I love HONDA much.

                      Re: R15 v2 complexity

I prefer purchasing what my heart says over my mind.
                      Hence baught r15 v2 over cbr 150/250.

I agree that mouting on the pillion seat of v2 is a bit pain in the a** but after you are mounted on the seat , its a great feeling out there.

Till now i have 'mostly' rode solo so as far as the pillion issue is concerned i cant comment on it.

But ,trust me on this guys, every girl who sat behind have said me the same thing that it feels awesome to be there ( ps : include short rides only and long rides again ...i cant comment)

                      Hope this helps.

Yes exactly. The pillion seat is suited for girls. And guys who have gf`s can buy this.

Seriously dude, I am angry towards the absence of pass light switch. I really need that switch a lot. Actually, Im not caring about the absence of kill switch. But I cant just ignore the bike for the absence of 1 switch!! I knew that, once I buy this bike Im not expecting any mileage. And still Im not looking for mileage.

Kill switch's presence is not that imp, where as Pass Light does matters alot!! How offen do we shut off the bike while riding ??
Same can be done with key too, this won't mind either, as you shut off only when you have ample time like signals of 60+sec time left to green

But Pass switch is which matters alot to some riders because it's been used often while ridding to ask side or overtaking. Believe, switching on light and then using up/deeper is something which many won't like or for that few 1-2 secs you won't like to do it!

But again it's the rider's style what he thinks?? Is he ok with this!! Pass light or kill Switch is not a big thing, but it matters where it is been use ??

R15 or CBr 150r is not thatgreat SBK that won't affect the pockets?? getting a 25kmpl or 35kmpl still matters to many people!!

Buying a 1.3L bike is not a big deal but think wisely on your monthly usage?? Are you happy with 40+/-kmpl per liter ??

My R15 gives me 40-42kmpl to 35-38kmpl depends on riding speed, Similarly my friend who has CBR gets always better mileage then me...lol...ROFL!!! The surprising point is he too rides at same speed often like me but his figures are 40-45kmpl, he hardly got 40kmpl.

Even in my office there are few CBR 150r owners who claims good 40+kmpl always.

Other factor that will matter you is ID your dad/Mom/Sister gonna be your pillions?? Then Surely R15 is a Big "NO"!!!

There is no fun riding solo all time!! If you have more than 2 bikes then think for R15 else no.

When you can fit a Kill Switch and Pass light later than what's the problem ??
                          Just a suggestion dude!!:
May your GF have cancelled Duke, But if you think practically then Duke has better specs and affordable Maintenance by Bajaj and bike cost 1.3-1.4 only!! It's always better to buy a product with best power and performance in that price range!! 200cc is any time a best bet over 150cc. Think again!! I have seen Duke people zic zac in traffic, it's very similar to R15 while cornering/Braking/handling!!

Well, nice comments guys. Really its worthy comments somen.

My Pillion will be my friends, that too occasionally. And sometimes me if I go for a long shared ride. Mileage wise CBR is good I also heard. And this will be my first bike. Duke is not my choice. I prefer sporty looks as I used to ride a sporty cycle (left 2 years back).

Just a thought, if I get a chance to choose something launched newly in 2013 in this segment ie: 150cc sports, should I wait ?.

Cbr 150r makes more sense by mentioning the word comfort and 60% highways, it's a highway monster. But, pls do TD any vehicle atleast twice to get a feel of riding position. Cbr sitting is sporty but not as sporty as r15. After some comparison I found that there is minor angle diff between cbr 150r handle bar and r15 v2 which makes lots of difference in long distance ride even though their seat heights are nearly equal. What I found was r15's handle bar is slightly more bent towards the ground where as in cbr 150r that slight bend is towards the rider. This was my observation, I assumed that this causes the extre aggressiveness in riding posture in r15. Experts can comment better on this.
Riding 17.6 horses out of which 5 horses work in the city and other 12+ horses wake up after 6k rpm and run after 8k rpm
