  • need your advice... :)

    hi Frens,

i am looking for buying a bike. well... thats not all...

    i owned P180 UGIII for 5 years.
then i rode P220 DTSI for 1 year.

and then got myself a R15 v2... and parted with it in just 2 months of ownership... reason.. i missed the torque of p220 and my wrists used to ache a lot. I never had any back pain, was comfortable with seating, but as all my weight was getting transferred to my arms and wrists, so wrists used to pain a lot, so I sold it.

now I am again looking for a bike.

while buying R15v2 i had DUKE in mind...
don't know why i didn't go for DUKE...

now ... before making the purchase decision I wish to take your advice.

I am going to make this purchase this Diwali itself...
so I don't have many models to consider.

    No budget constraint.
Though I can only afford a second hand Ninja... not a new one... :P

    My purpose:
daily riding to office to and fro (40+40)kms. approx.
Weekend trips to nearby malls or occasional Rides or touring

    ~
    Please advice

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

If you don't have any fairing fetish, and don't need pillion comfort then go with Duke or p200ns.

Why did you sell P220 when you were happy with it ? Have you shortlisted any bikes ?

          Duke boy...

No reasons, just feeling that a biker radiates of owning this machine, chuck everything out the window, if you have the money the Duke or else 200NS. Dont look into the technicalities and confuse yourself more.

80kms , It's better you go with TBTS350 new model this would be best. I don't think that Torque was the only issue in R15 Vs P220 ?? Even riding position played a crusial part here to sell it.

TBTS would be great in terms of comfort, Duke is not comfortable for daily 80kms ride, due it's back placed foot peg and hard seat.
NS200 owner says that NS200 has good seat! But personally riding 40kms daily is something person would need comfort more than power or speed, personal opion though!

Else CBR 250 with relaxed riding position and more better torque and speed over P220.

If budget constraints then CBR 150R.

My suggestion is TBTS new model!!

I dont have any fairing fetish, but i enjoyed the attention i got on R15 v 2,
pillion comfort wasn't that big a criteria, but my frens always complained while climbing r15v2, once I had to park my bike close to the ramp to make a fren-girl climb on the bike.
Duke is what my heart says yes. Though my girl-fren and all others around don't like the styling much as compared to R15. hehehe.

              try troll spray.. haha

TBTS is a very good choice,
I feel i should by one bike for commuting purpose and one bike for sports riding. ninja 250 or 300. I am loving the design of it. Lets see when it is launched. Though Ninja 250 has 2 months waiting and is costing 3.2Lakhs here in Mumbai.

Yes, riding position though a very cool looking but was a rider-killer... ! so many killers... i wonder what should i kill.

yaah, i tried new TBTS recently i tried both 350 and 500. They are very nice and They have 6 months waiting here in Mumbai...
until then i will grow old of not riding a bike and i might forget how to ride a bike even... hehe..

Else CBR 250 with relaxed riding position and more better torque and speed over P220.

CBR 250 is good with Honda quality, but its not a traffic machine, as Mumbai is so loaded with heavy traffic, everytime I have to do zig-zag cutting in the traffic.
This was another big reason why I am considering Duke200.

If budget constraints then CBR 150R.

err... if I have bought r15 rejecting CBR150R.. then I won't think i would be able to convince myself to buy CBR150 over a r15.
My personal opinion I still think CBR150 to be a less potent bike than r15. R15 is a lot better.

My suggestion is TBTS new model!!
              Matt Black?

              NO reasons, just chuck everything!

              "technicalities confuse more"
"feeling that a biker radiates of owning this machine."

              lovely reply

Go for the duke, you won't regret it. Its best for city traffic. I too have a similar dilemma, heart says duke, mind says cbr250r. But its more likely that I'll be going with my heart .

I will write all my purchase experience, which was pathetic due to reckless staff of KTM(Bajaj), but then the bike was so good that it just lifted my mood.

[Mods please don't close the thread, I am going to post my purchase experience on Sunday(holiday) with lots of pics..]
