  • New Pulsar 200ns or Old duke 200 ?

    Hello guys ,

I am getting a 5 months old ktm duke 200 for 1 lacs (only 1800 kms done) and it looks brand new . New Pulsar 200ns is also available ard 1lacs .

To compare the new ktm with the old one, i took test drive of both bikes today . I was not able to find any significant change in the ride quality .

Should i go ahead and buy old ktm ? how do i check if there are no issues with it ?

    Thanks ,
    Vivek

Check service history from SVC and do ask reason for sale. If nothing is fishy, get the Duke before anyone else does.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Actually the duke showroom guy showed me the bike ! 2 services are done , the mechanic from duke service centre told me that it is in mint condition . The owner is quoting that he wants to buy hayabusa and he already owns many cars !

I'd suggest the pulsar. Will give less maintenance hussle. Performance is good enough and mileage is way better than duke.

KTM showroom guy has recommended? Did you ask him why he's coaxing you to take your money OUT OF THE SHOWROOM and pay it to SOMEONE ELSE? And if the owner had a litre class Hayabusa on his mind, why did he even buy a singe cylinder 200cc?? Slightly suspicious...

Both bike's characteristics are different. So, what are your thoughts on it?

NS200 is a high rpm machine. Where as Duke is instant reponsive machine. Duke works on short gear funda. NS200 has better pillion seat, where as Duke is not so great with pillion.
NS200 has better average compare to Duke.

Duke has better features : inverted shock absorbers, FI, , better tyres ..etc

where as NS200 is Carb, normal shock absorbers, some where people feel stock tyres are not that great.

Practicaly hardly anyone can make the difference between inverted and normal shock absorbers while riding. FI and carb are very close in performance.

            So now you decide !!

INMO new NS200 is better than a second hand Duke.

Get the pride of riding KTM with following liabilities_high maintenance, less SVC,low FE, not so comfortable pillion seats.
