  • pls help me duke 200 or duke with abs

    /sorry for my english/

am almost selected duke as my next bike

1-now my problem is am from nellore, andhra.dont have ktm showroom here but avilable at vijayawada a 300+kms from here so my problem is with service

what is service intervels for ktm duke (according to ktm site 1st service is f100 t1000kms) so am planing to buy duke at vijayawada and @ same day will play with duke until it odo croses 100kms mark and there itself changing engine oil i mean 1st service and coming home

is this a good idea ?

    or
will bajaj showrooms will do minor service job like engine oil change without warrenty being void?

2-what will be the difference in price between abs version and when it will avilable in 2013 and will it posses any updates other than abs?

3-although confirmed duke i want to know the mileage in highway and city with moderate traffic with rash and saint driving styles (pls am just curious)

4-is duke saddle is higher than cbz xtream am 5.6 heigh and very skinny am fine with my cbz height

tnx in advance for spending your valuable time for reading my post and for reply if any

any other suggestions, give me am waiting

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

      Some points to think...
      1. Do you want to ride 600 Km every time you want your bike to get serviced?
      2. After riding back home do you want to realize that the ASC haven't completed one job that was mentioned in the job card?
      3. Do you want to get the bike serviced near & by & worry if the carried out job will void the warranty every time?

Don't know why but I feel buying a bike where you have to service very often then normal is not a logical decision.

300kms from your home, that means 600kms to and back ?
I would suggest buy something which is near by...

What will you do when some emergency needed for your bike ?

i thought sevice intervel is 5000kms so i planed like that.

          will bajaj service ktm?

Still I would say buying KTM would be a wrong decision. I don't think that such a great bike should be serviced by local mech in emergency! Be practical bro, 300kms is too much for getting a bike serviced or for any issue. It's like you will be writting a trip log every service visit.

As far as Bajaj servicing KTM, Yes they can do if they have those set ups which are need for KTM bikes and KTM knowledgable mech
                .

If you are really commited then buy it.

With ease, for me being 95kgs, and riding speeds of 110-120kmph on highway the returned FE is around 44kmpl.

44 when ridden at 110 kmph that's something I haven't heard before. Are you sure?

This is the same problem with prospective Suzuki owners (of certain cities) as well. If you ever get stranded because your bike has something wrong with it, you're pretty much screwed. You don't just pay for a new bike you know, you also pay for the warranty, the piece of mind, the experience and the service. What is the point of buying a new bike when all of this is unavailable to you ? If you are an enthusiast and plan to buy a bike purely out of passion and for leisure use (or you know how to service it properly yourself) then this advice doesn't hold good, but in general, always buy something that is easily serviced in and around the places you stay at and visit/travel frequently.
