I'm willing to buy an new bike especially a KTM Duke. My nearest store here they told me that the new 390cc with ABS is expected to hit the stores in March.

Should i go with 200 or wait for 390 to arrive

    What you guys suggest?

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

      Hi KG,

First define your needs from this new bike. If it involves lot of touring and highway riding or being with pillion , the naked Duke is not the right choice.
Also specify the foll.- Budget, Time (need one urgently?), Riding style

It's still not clear whether the 390 will be the street fighter that was shown at EICMA or as the CEO stated, we're gonna get a faired version. If the street fighter is fine, then the 200 should be a good buy, just wait for the ABS version. The 390 street fighter is essentially the same thing with way more power (impractical in my opinion)
If you're interested in a faired bike and can wait, I'd suggest you do so as the picture should be clear in next 2 months.

My pick D390 ofcourse(If money's not a probl'm). The rider who choose D390 should live with the so called niggles it gonna give for the Fun it provides(+ it can offer anything the D200 gives you!, only with added fun!) as in India its so close to a super sport / life style product.

I don't think,d200 and 390 will be in same price range.Pulsar 375 might be in the price range of d200.

@TS - Wait for 390, see if it fits your budget and then make a decision. Test ride is a must.

I'll use this bike for regular commuting daily driving in Highway. Pillion? Nope unmarried and i don’t have a gf .
Money is not a problem and I can wait for 2-3 months, and it’s ok even it’s a full faired or naked bike.

Absolutely correct !! It's your hard earn money and not only you but all should think wisely before investing.

Any time Duke 390 would be more powerful and more aggressive in nature as compared to Duke 200.

I had asked KTM showroom in my area and they said Duke 390 and Ninja 300 both would be launched in March last week or first week of April.

As you replied above you were looking for 650cc bikes, So from that angle 390cc is best and affordable and so Duke 200 is out of picture.

If you love 650cc and you are earning then do wait and save money for 650cc bikes, Because once an addiction is always an addiction. 650 power can't be matched with 390cc. Mind it there is no replacement to cc !!

And if you are not ready to wait then surely wait for atleast Duke 390 for 3-4 months so that you can buy 390.

Seeing Duke 200 priced Duke 390 ABS model would come in approx <3.5L INMO.

                  Test ride it and decide.
