Busa is bulky but heard they have more comfortable riding position.

I think these bikes have adjustable suspension on both front and back.

Cool running bike/better fans? No idea.
        Fuel economy? Really ?

        Both has abs I guess.

Just re-read your requirements and figured that most of your requirements (street presence, absorbant ride, cool running, comfortable position for city, VFM, ABS and FE) will be better fulfilled by a Naked, not a full faired bike.

          Try taking a look at
          1. Yamaha FZ1
          2. Ducati Streetfighter / Hypermotard series
          3. Honda CB1000
          4. Suzuki B-King (not sure if this is available in India)
          5. Husqvarna Nuda 900

While I do not know right now which of these are sold with ABS, I guess you can do that bit of research yourself .

You haven't mentioned what is your current ride and preferred riding style; The Blade is more suited for twisties and cornering nirvana whilst the Busa would be great for straight lines for most times. It all depends on how you want to ride!

If budget is no issue you could try the Beemers as well... the SR1000RR would do justice to any garage! The 2013 Gixxer is also a good choice; on the other hand if you want something technologically loaded to the gills (from traction control to launch control!), you could try the 2013 Aprilia RSV4 Factory spec version as well!!

Do keep us posted on your eventual decision! Im also preparing my finances for an eventual upgrade from my baby Ninja in due course!

            Cheers and ride safe!

Hi Captain Koli , I was about to open a new thread for the same query but luckily saw your thread.

But i can see very less information here , Let me share my views . I will tell you about all the option that were in my consideration.

Please not that my budget has gradually increased over last 3 years and i was considering some other option 2 years back.

              My driving preference are below.
              - Bike will be used only for weekend morning rides so FE is not a problem , I will not be selling it so no point of good re-sale value.
              - Good service quality is a must so that i have complete peace of mind.
              - ABS was on top of list.
              - Would also prefer if bike has different power mode ( As in R1 and Busa).
-Riding stance : As i would be using the bike for weekend ride only max 1-2 hr so I feel i can handle riding stance of a super sports bike but would always prefer the most comfortable one.
              - Street ride-ability : I mean riding at low speed in high gear with ease.

My budget has gone up for 5 lac to 15 lacs in three years and only then I can see that i have options . We really don't have any cheap option in superbike.

              Here my list goes.

              1. GT650r (5.5 lac on road )
Never appealed to me on very first instant but at such price is a good option. Had some build quality and vibration issue. 2013 GT looks good.
I have driven one and for 5.5 lac it's good bike.

              2. Ninja 650 ( 5.5 approx).
Other option than GT , Lacks the exhaust note but overall a good package. I rate it better than GT.

Then come the big guns the litre bikes.

              1. Yamaha Fz1 (10.9 lac approx).
Good masculine looks , Sounds Great. Awesome machine , 150 bhp is more then enough for indian roads.

My thought on it : I have heard that incase there is some issue or you need some parts for it ,people have waited for 3-4 months . Yamaha is not good at servicing and we have to rely on the mercy of the dealer. My main reason for not choosing FZ1 is that here ( in Delhi) they don't have even a display bike , so how can you expect a person to buy a 10 lac bike without even looking at the bike, leave alone checking the riding position or getting some feel of the bike at stand still.
Also wind blast at high speed (<150 Kmph) can also be discomfort (atleast for me it is).

              2. Honda CB1000R ( 10.9 lac on road delhi , I am also getting a good deal on 2011 showroom model at 10.08 lac on road delhi)- Price is really mouth watering.

I have sat on one , heard it sound (damm good) and it's an awesome machine. My only regret is that in plain black color it's doesn't give me that superbike looks.
I would have bought CB1000 for 11 lacs in case the 2012 HRC color scheme was available . The plain black CB1000R just doesn't appealed.
With an upright stance wind blast will always be an issue but still i would have bought it in 2012 HRC color as i am getting honda reliability and assurance of good service and easy availability of parts.

CB1000R was finalized but then came the twist , The guy at Honda wing world Mr Anand offered me a test ride of Honda VFR1200 F , I was a bit reluctant initially but he gave me confidence and gave me short guide about do and don't on big bike and also about the VFR 1200F as it being a fully automatic bike ( with out clutch and without any gear).

I rode the bike slowly in drive mode ( gear change happens at 3000-3500 rpm ) which is not very responsive but is good for a new rider's like me. I took a 1.5 to 2 Km ride on drive-mode and while coming back i stopped the bike and told the guy sitting behind that now I will ride it in sports-mode (gear change happens at 5000-5500 rpm) . Now came the thrill , The bike was now behaving like a superbike, I touch 145 twice on my very first ride and it was like i haven't pushed it , Itjust sails ahead . After touching 145 kmph and then stopping the big bike i felt a bit scary but it slowed down without any tantrum . This made me realize the practicality of ABS and this one was C-ABS.

I came back to showroom and was praising about the bike , I almost made up mind for VFR1200F after this TD . I sat in the showroom for alomost 1.5-2 hr and discussing pros and cons of VFR and i realized that it's being a sports tourer and that too without any gears will not be able to thriill me later on. After all the whole fun of bike is in gear .

I stripped VFR1200F from my list but it made a very good impact on me . After the TD of VFR12000 I realized that instead of spending 16 lac on VFR12000 let give a try to CBR1000RR.
Regarding CBR1000RR i was in impression that like all other superbike , This one riding stance is also very demanding but when i sat on it ,i felt that this machine can be ridden and i was good with the riding stance.

Then after 2-3 days of reading all the superbike review and watching all videos on youtube , here is my take on CBR1000RR 2013 model

              - In HRC color scheme , it looks awesome . ( Only 2012 Red/white R1 can beat it in looks ) . As looks are subjective you can decide by yourself.
              - It has C-ABS , I have ridden VFR and i was told that brakes on fireblade are one step ahead.
              - At 175 Bhp , it's more than enough for any rider (leave apart the professionals).
              - The good thing that i read/heard on reviews is that CBR1000RR has ample amount of torque at low RPM and you can even ride it at 50-60 in 6 gears without any hiccups ( also seen the same thing on a youtube video).
              - One more important thing that was highlighted was that CBR1000RR is very nimble and easy to ride machine, It feels like a 650CC . Clutch feel is good and light making it good for city riding.
              - Power delivery is very linear , No matter which gear you are in and at what RPM the power comes thick and crisp and it's not an abrupt release of power ( which happens with R1 as per reviews).

Also before making up my mind i have sat on it many times and it felt good to me , Not very demanding.

Today I went to Suzuki showroom to check other options.

2012 Hayabusa is coming at 15.25 lac on road delhi. The guys told me that he can give me TD of busa this sunday ,let'c if he gives me a call.
              My Initial take on busa.
              - I won't be discussing looks and they are subjecitve but BUSA is huge compared to Fireblade.
              - Riding stance is good but eveytime i took it from stand i could feel the weight on my legs. Not sure how light it will feel during ride.
              - Lack of ABS on 2012 model , 2013 model with ABS is priced close to 17 lac.

Till now CBR1000RR looks promising to me but here is the catch............................

I am getting a good deal on old 2010 model busa fitted with TB exhaust at 11.5 lacs .

So If it's new bike it would be Fireblade for me and incase it's a old bike it would be Busa.

Chances of buying an old bike are very much less as now but let's see what's is in destiny.

nice write up dude so what bike did you buy i spoke to Suzuki dealers here and the bike with abs is 17 lac's and the Honda fireblade price is unknown till now but will be around 16.2 -16.5 lac's im leaning towards busa for power modes, street presence, comfy ride, abs but there's catch the bike will only come in April-may 2013 so back to square one wait for busa or buy the blade

                    my 2 bits - (disclaimer i own a busa )

Busa - The riding ergonomics are better than the liter bikes....the pillion rider will be more comfortable as the seat is bigger and lower, the power delivery is smooth . The bike has a longer wheel base and weighs a ton ( 275 kgs) dry . Its tougher to manage until u get over the size and weight of the bike....after that its a blast. faster on a straight an can corner well too....have taken it to the tracks and took time to settle in but once on it was hot.....

Liter bikes - Super light , fast and aggressive - u have a large choice to pick from - depending on ur budget . the honda cb1000rr is the most preferred - the gixxer is a hooligan not recommended for a 1st timer...the 848 evo too is superb but u need to get over the exhaust note and temperament of a Italian make also the service backup is not great....

U need to decide on what works for u and decide...cheers all the best
If you not living close to the edge ...... your taking up too much space

TS...Go for Busa, also I feel it's most popular Bike in SuperBike Category in India..This Bike offers immense road presence & styling !!!

                          Re: cbr1000rr or gsx1300r ???

As you have wanted a pick between ceeber and busa I won't even go elsewhere.
INMO CBR takes the win - its better handling , very agile , sounds better , is almost as fast as busa in the real world , has loads of torque , has better lap times than most liter bikes ( courtesy MCN comparos ) and yess !! Delivers better FE than busa too

PS : these are my opinions . Busa is great but you wont be doing drags all the time eh ?
