The issue was with the showrooms bike actually, they had not done servicing properly with the TD bike i guess. Had a second go with the same bike and found a lot of noise and shifted gears very early, notified the showroom guys and had another one(FZ-S) for TD. Now that was one proper one and i was happy with the gear shifts and the comfort, still didn't pack enough punch when compared to Apache 160 or Apache 180! But got to say, the best comfort i had ever got from riding a bike! Ever!
Did a TD of RTR 180(not ABS), had some vibes around the same rpm and i conveyed this to the showroom(TRIJAL TVS, Whitefield), they declined it totally and told it will have vibrations only after 100km and above. Was totally pissed at them was defending the bike so blindly! Apart from the minor vibes(well its 90% lesser than the ones which i get in my XCD!), the pickup was amazing! Was totally in love with that!Originally posted by pcgamer View PostRTR180 ABS would easily suit your needs. Test ride one. You may take a couple of days to get used to the vibes around 4K RPM. Same thing when it comes to the seating position. If you learn to brake properly on discs, you can easily avoid wheel locks(in case of non ABS ones). AFAIK, both the new and the classic model are being produced simultaneously. So, you can pick the design of your choice too..
Sorry guys, took sometime to reply back, got into a little accident! Sudden deflection of a motorbike up in front caused a panic braking(That too just got the XCD back from Khivraj after servicing! Think might be some fault with too much brake overhauling) which jammed up the rear brakes and had my rear going in for a wobble and a skid when i was in 50-55kmph, did a unintentional somersault; Was hurt a little with bruises on both hands, chest and right leg, however survived because of my bike had fallen behind me and i was catapulted to the side of the road with my loyal LS2 taking most of the damage. After that when i recovered i realized that the accident happened because of panic braking which was my fault, but it was because of the stupid motorist in the first place and i was the one to bear the injuries! So i am almost convinced now that ABS could have averted me from this kinda disaster, am i right ?Originally posted by bbsrailfan View PostDamn, you are right! My bad - I completely forgot the RTR180ABS.
If ABS figures high in the list of your priorities, RTR180 should definitely fit the bill.
Where do you stay in Bangalore? AFAIK Popular Bajaj at Koramangala does have one for TD. You may also check with Khivraj at Domlur.
Regarding CB150R - all I can say is - if you are looking to buy your new ride within a month or two, you may strike this one off the list, as its expected only in Mid-Q2 (Jun-July)
Now just totally leaning towards RTR 180 ABS since it has ABS and ex-showroom price comes ~ 96k, meanwhile havent done a TD with Pulsar 200NS yet, but the prices seems a little on the higher end ~ 1.01L without ABS
! And does CB150R comes with a optional ABS? If so then i could probably wait for it!

If you are inclined to getting an ABS bike, then my best bet would be the CBR 250R C-ABS(If you can afford it). Else its RTR 180 ABS all the way. I'm not sure whether Honda will be interested in adding an ABS for the CBR 150 R as its overpriced already.Originally posted by SriramN View PostNow just totally leaning towards RTR 180 ABS since it has ABS and ex-showroom price comes ~ 96k, meanwhile havent done a TD with Pulsar 200NS yet, but the prices seems a little on the higher end ~ 1.01L without ABS

I read a thread some time back saying ABS can be fitted to a bike seperatley(if the manufacture doesnt provide it). why dont you try that.Originally posted by SriramN View Post

@SriramN Glad that you are safe. One very important thing to remember is: ABS can't save you from a crash.
I had a touch-and-go yesterday when a helmetless slumdog with a earphones plugged into his brainholes decided to cut across the road from the leftmost lane right through the a gap in the divider without any indication whatsoever. I was doing 70-ish on the rightmost lane and squeezed both brakes instantly. I was at 5-6 metres distance and expected the bike to stop fully within that distance, but there was dust & gravel on the road and the ABS delayed my braking further - causing me to bang into him at a crotch-hurting speed.
I did give him back nicely, but a lesson well learnt - ABS is a life saver under certain circumstances only.
Regarding CB150R, I don't think it won't be launched with an ABS option, as it will be targeted at the premium 150cc segment and will be priced very competitively. Moreover, it will borrow it's engine from the CBR150 which is already expensive - so the ABS is out of question. Your options would be restricted to the Apache if you are seriously thinking of ABS - else it would be twice the price for a 250R.
@Ezilkannan: We are referring to the 'coming soon' CB-150R naked bike and not the CBR150R.
@Kumar: That so-called 'ABS' is nothing but a small valve that regulates braking pressure. It is in no way comparable to an ABS system and chances are, it will put your life at a bigger risk.Originally posted by kumarbiker View PostI read a thread some time back saying ABS can be fitted to a bike seperatley(if the manufacture doesnt provide it). why dont you try that.Last edited by bbsrailfan; 02-28-2013, 01:28 PM.Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

Didn't read it correctly there. Either way, I don't think Honda would be adding an ABS to the naked streetfire version either as it will further increase the cost of the bike. Honda uses a C-ABS system which is a little more complex than the one used in RTR 180, so it will be much more expensive than the same. I don't think they will add it in the CB150R either.Originally posted by bbsrailfan View Post

Like I said above, if the TS is serious about ABS and has the budget to fit in, I would recommend the CBR 250 R ABS. For some reason, I feel that the ABS provided by Honda is way better than those on the RTR.Last edited by Ezilkannan; 02-28-2013, 08:33 PM.2013 R15(Sold) | 2014 Duke 390 (Sold) | 2022 Adv 390 | 2022 Ninja 300
