For a 1 lac budget you can also try:
1. Pulsar 200NS
2. Used CBR250R
3. Very slightly used Duke 200
What you choose depends upon what you want from your bike. So please try to enumerate what you really want from the bike.Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Hey, thanx for the tips antz.bin. I didn't know I could get 200NS in a lac rupee budget. Anyway I dont want a naked street bike. I'm happy with a sports tourer like my Zma as it fulfils all my needs. Only don't like the pricey spares.Originally posted by antz.bin View PostThread Approved

So Im 99.9% likely to pick another sports tourer(read 220f) which has all that the Zma has but only better.
1. Gorgeous looks
2. Great pick up/power(better than Zma)
3. Fairing( I always duck and zoom)
4. Good seat padding(better than Zma)
5. Better more modern suspension
6. Wider tyre
7. Projector light and good high beam
8. Spares cost half of that of the Zma's
9. Better than Zma fuel efficiency
10. And last but not the least, all this at a great value for money price!
Whew! Maybe thats a lot to convince me, huh? What say?

subjective

better pick up/power than zma and in 1 lakh budget....get a bajaj bike
3. Fairing( I always duck and zoom)
no faired bike within 1 lakh...closest u can get is semi faired p220
4. Good seat padding(better than Zma)
other requirements are a priority...u can modify seats with additional cushioning o be more comfortable
5. Better more modern suspension
6. Wider tyre
7. Projector light and good high beam
only p220 has projectors...else u can install projectors in the bike u buy later on
8. Spares cost half of that of the Zma's
BAJAJ BIKE
9. Better than Zma fuel efficiency
10. And last but not the least, all this at a great value for money price!
BAJAJ BIKE

from what i see u are a highway tourer....hence u need a fairing and since the best thing other than ZMA in ur budget is a p220 unless u want to go for the ZMR
but the 200NS is a much better bike than p220 and though it looks like a naked street bike..it has no characteristics of one....its power lies at the top end and not so meaty low end
if u are fine with cruising at speeds of 100-120 get the 200NS
and for spare parts refer my signature...i am sure u will find it very very cheap compared to what u pay for maintaining ZMAPulsar 200NS parts list

Thanx mayank. Actually the NS has a better engine than the p220, and I think the duke is spunkier to ride than the NS. So processing all this info leaves me with no ideal solution. Ideally I need a Duke wih a fairing I suppose... Im getting crazy hereOriginally posted by mayank.travadi View PostREPLIES IN BOLD

P.S. - ZMR is out of the question. Wouldn't take it for free. I dont like 'emLast edited by pixantz; 02-24-2013, 12:30 AM.

you could wait for the ktm RC25...but well it wouldnt fir ur budget...u either need to give up ur requirement for a fairing or u have to increase ur budget..or settle down with a p220...
NS is like a jack of all trades...u dont have a fairing but u have almost everything else...Pulsar 200NS parts list

Mayank, you have summed it up perfectly. My mechanic who is also a very good rider and stunter says that the p220 fairing doesn't do a job as good as the Zma though. I'll have to check on that too. And since you have a 200NS, how is the wind blast past 120kph? Guess it will blast you.Originally posted by mayank.travadi View Postyou could wait for the ktm RC25...but well it wouldnt fir ur budget...u either need to give up ur requirement for a fairing or u have to increase ur budget..or settle down with a p220...

P.S. if the NS had a half fairing atleast, my life would have been sorted....

Yes indeed the Pulsar 220 is a good option. But certainly the 200 NS tops as far as specifications is considered. So if you are ok with the naked design, the 200 NS would be the better option.

Wind protection on the 200NS?? what wind protection??!! At any speed higher than 110, you will feel every small change in wind speed and directionOriginally posted by pixantz View Posthow is the wind blast past 120kph? Guess it will blast you.
