Yezdi roadking.. has got 16bhp on tap.. fastest of the lot.. i believe spares r still available in places like Bangalore & Mysore.. many shop keepers bought bulk stock for dirt cheap prices when the factory got demolished some 4-5 years ago.. they are sitting on huge stock [NOS].. search for shops in & around mysore.. and expect to pay a BOMB for these priceless pieces..

I dont know when i hear the word restore. i feel Vintage. so i would recoment a JAVA. and i am sure its not hard to find parts if you can get them for the Yezdi then java wont be a problem

Go for Yezdi(Classic if you mind fuel costs, if-not Roadking is the one to own) very reliable bike,i know people who still do bangalore-hyderabad(600kms approx) within 12 hours on yezdi(even now)..

Jawa is same but the only problem is spares, very hard to find, my friend recently restored a 64 jawa to original state which costed him a bomb. but its definetly a head turner.

better opt for yezdi(comes very cheap and parts are still available also reliable)

                Hello Richard,
The Yezdi and jawa 353 series motorcycles are essentially the same mechanical design. Considering that you're from Nagpur, I'd suggest picking up a cheap Roadking, and taking it from there, as the original Jawa parts are getting pretty scarce and expensive these days. Roadking originals are still available relatively easily in places like bangalore, mysore etc. So i'd say the Roadking would be the best bet for a first personal resto.

Good luck with it, and let us know how everything goes.
                Cheers
                Rahul

                  Hey Richard

best is to go down to Sitabuldi in Nagpur. Meet up with a mechanici near Anand talkies called BHOJRAJ who does only YEZDI's. He sits near Bhide Kanya Girls High School.

Rest all can just be done once you speak to him. Its best if you aactually buy a BIKE in the same town as you are residing:

                  1. Transfer is not an issue
                  2. You can contact the owner in case of any glitches discovered later or some paperwork pending

BTW - Since you are from Nagpur - Hope you knwo who are the people who ride YEZDI's in your area !!!!????

BTW - Nagpur is my Hometown too and I ride my yezdi there.
