Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Difficult question to answer as these both are entirely different Bikes from eachother.
One a Street fighter, one a mini sports machine.
First decide well, that which riding you choose? Sports biking?? or free biking??
As per your requirements, both the bikes suit all the above mentioned points.
Both perform well in city & highway, but the duke's pillion seat is not comfortable.
Coming to Safety, its not the question to ask. Why dont you expect safety when you are spending 1.5-1.6 lakh for a machine.
Pleasure of riding, Well, thats a different question, because a streetfighter & a sportsbike, both have their own pleasures & joys.
Finally coming to a bike, go with the duke, more modern, better & easy to ride, spares a bit cheaper than CBR250R.
Royal Enfield Bullet Standard 350cc 1989, Bajaj Avenger 200-2009, Pulsar 200 NS 2015.

Both are poles apart in their approach to biking. CBR250 is the bike you'd love to ride endlessly on expressways with saddlebags on. A perfect tourer.
Duke is happiest inside the city, though it can still make you grin on an occasional highway blast. Keep in mind that CBR is taller and heavier than a Duke.

        Short Conclusion:
If you are a highway person, loved relaxed, all-day, high speed cruising - CBR250. No second thought.
If you are primarily a city-slicker, but would occasionally hit the highway for a speed run - D200.

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

Be aware that these two are very different bikes. If I were you I would pick the CBR 250R ABS. I would advise you to pick the duke only if you are going to ride excessively in the city and not much on the highways. Duke is excellent for street/city riding. CBR is a more refined machine suited for touring, but it can also be ridden in the streets too, but its not as flickable as the duke as its heavier.
          for your requirements
          1. CBR is better in terms of riding comfort
          2. A tie here since Duke is better in city riding while CBR is better on the highway
          3. CBR will be more suited for touring
          4. CBR with the C-ABS will be much more safer than the Duke 200
          5. This can be subjective, if you are very enthusiastic and would like to have a lot of high revving fun when riding the Duke will suit you. If you are more inclined towards a refined smoother engine, CBR will be apt.

Not to offend you, but 5'2" is quite short for a bike like the CBR(you will have to lean more than the normal posture), make sure that you get to ride both the bikes before buying one.

well i am new to biking too with still to get my own bike, but since mandira bedi can comment on cricket,i too shall put my two cents
-going by your needs, cbr 250 seems a good choice,d200 seems to be in so hurry that the only pleasure you get is from the hooligan acceleration and sharp handling(by my standards)it seems like begging for more, its just so race track oriented.
1,2,3,4 are more or less satisfied by cbr (scientifically and democratically),add to that the vast Honda servicing network.
also cbr beats duke marginally in most power out standards but also costs more, even more so if you opt for c-abs.but 5 is very very subjective i guess and the most important criteria because love knows no logic,my friend tours on duke with a jerrycan as it has only 11l fuel tank.but inside city,he is the ring king.

but as all other say-TD does the thing

OT-just wondering whatever happened to faired ktm d390

KTM there mate. The biggest downside of Honda are there ASCs. But still if you get to know the people at your ASC and build a good rapport with them, they will ensure that your ride is serviced properly. But over all KTM has better service (PBK). Just get yourselves clarified in the CBR 250R and Duke 200 ownership threads. They will be able to help you out better. My 2 cents as an owner of a Honda bike is that their ASCs are not very good.

Duke is not a race track oriented bike. Its a high revving fun filled naked streetfighter and that's what it does at best. Its too unstable at high speeds to call it a track oriented bike, sure it can do a few laps on track, but so can the CBR too or any other bike for that matter. A classic example for a track oriented bike will be the Ninja 250R or the RS125

CBR 250 would be anytime best in touring with pillion as well as alone.
It's riding position is also best for such machine with that speed and handling.

Duke is good for city or small 50-100kms ride. But people are taking it to some big distances as well.
But duke is not good as compare to CBR in terms of comfort.Duke's hard seat, etc makes it bit uncomfortable in riding post some 60-80kms.

CBR is worth if toured, Duke is worth if city is major use.
