  • Bike with good ride comfort around 70K

    Hi All,

I am looking for a bike with very good ride comfort, decent mileage and decent acceleration. My budget is around 70k but I can stretch a bit more if required. I have shortlisted CB Unicorn and yamah sz-r. I am open to any other options also.

I have been having a sore back riding my 7 year old dicover 125 so good suspension is an absolute must. I would prefer the bike to be a bit lighter as I am lean. My daily commute is around 25 kms. suggestions are welcome.

    Thanks
    Pradeep

well both the bikes are good...
go for szr if budget is a problem else go for cb unicorn...
you can also think of gs150r if suzuki showroom is in your city only if A.S.S. is in your city...

      first priority should be unicorn

SZ-R and Unicorn are equally matched when it comes to comfort and refinement levels. Between the two of them, pick the Unicorn for higher top speed and better FE over the SZ-R. Pick the SZ-R if you prefer modern looks and a (marginally) better service.

As Manas suggested, the Suzuki GS150R is an excellent bike in the 150cc segment, but pick it only if you have a good service network in your area. Do a market study on the ASCs first!

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

Thanks for the replies guys. I had actually also thought of Suzuki GS150R but I was worried of ASC and availability of spares so I removed it from my list. As bbsrailfan pointed out, sz-r seems to score in terms of ASC and looks and unicorn in terms of mileage. so I am still confused

              ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

I also thought of Trigger as MidnightEvil Parth pointed out but I have not seen any reviews or road tests so I am a little circumspect just in case the ride quality might not be as good as that of the unicorn. I have not considered Pulsars because I have been using Bajaj motorcycles for about 12 years now so wanted to get a honda or a yamaha. Also I am not sure if Pulsar's comfort levels are on par with the Unicorn and SZ-R

Well, I guess it's a personal call now, depending on your riding style and preference for looks. If you intend to ride within city limits, not exceeding 90kph, SZ-R is a beautiful looking machine that returns 3-4 kpl less than the Unicorn. If you wish to cross 100kph everytime you see an empty road, and don't bother about looks, it's Unicorn all the way.

The Trigger is essentially the Dazzler (which, in turn, is an Unicorn engine in a different body) with a few improvements and refreshes. As of now, we are still not sure if the "refresh" has affected the refinement and handling. But a TR on a Dazzler can give you a rough idea.

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

Trigger will be soon available in market then you can see its review...
i was also going to suggest trigger but i think its price will be around 77k rs...
                  checkout the pricing in showroom...

                    Comfort!!!
                    Unicorn and FZ 16.
FZ is lighter of the two, and easier to ride. But costs more as well.Your call now. Any other bikes for sour back, I wont recommend. But yes if you can stretch your budget, P200NS is also a good option.

Re: Bike with good ride comfort around 70K

SZ-R is much more easier to ride in city traffic than unicorn. Its low and mid range in excellent and it can pull cleanly from 30kmph in top gear even with pillion where as unicorn will give slightly better mileage figures but poor after sales support. SZ-R's roll on figures in 4th and 5th gear are best in 150cc segment.

I had ridden a friend's GS150R long back and was pretty impressed. On second thoughts, I think I should be considering GS150R also but am worried about the spares and ASC. Anyone from Hyderabad in the forum who owns a GS150R, who can guide me regarding this? Please let me know where you are getting your bike serviced and how is the availability of spares. Thanks

trigger is in a different league and its price will be around 80k on road which means it will be around 14-15k more pricier than SZ-R....
