  • Looking for a bike under 5 lacs

    Hi,
I have like a year of experience riding my dad's bullet 500 and my friend's Yamaha Fz and now I have finally decided to own my very own bike and need a lot of help narrowing down to my final purchase!

    1. Budget - 5 lacs(on-road)
    2. Age - 26
    3. Height- 6'1''
    4. Weight- 95
    5. Intended usage- Office Commute in Mumbai traffic(15kms) and touring (already planning long trips)
    6. Fuel Efficiency requirement- N/a
    7. City & Highway percentage usage- 50/50
    9. City / Town /Village of residence - Mumbai
    10. Brand / Bike type preference- I need something with a tall seat height and should look big (i feel cramped or street nakeds or small bikes)

Prior to posting over here, I already test drove two vehicles -
    1. KTM 390 ADV- felt it to be sluggish in lower RPMs
    2. BMW g 310GS- Right now on the top of the list with a linear power curve and good highway crusing.

Any help/ add-ons to the above list would be helpful

If lower RPM sluggishness was the only concern for you in 390 adventure, and you loved everything else about it, then I just wanted to tell you that couple of people have put the 250 adventure's rear sprocket in 390 and the lower rpm sluggishness problem was resolved. they mentioned that it will affect the absolute top end though.

I would suggest 390 Adventure for you. Its my personal opinion. I feel that the 390 Adv is an overall worthy bike for the money you pay. 310 GS maintenance cost could be on the higher side for you. I own a KTM 390 Duke 2019 model. I love the machine. Ride quality is very satisfying for me. I will never regret spending each and every penny I am spending for it.

Also, Try to take both bikes for a longer distance and probably you will find your answer. Speak to your friends or rent it out and understand the bikes. A short distance test ride will actually not help you.
