  • CB300R Yes or No

    Hello everyone,
I'm Abhisek Agarwal from Kolkata & I'm planning to get a new ride within 300CC segment. My confusion is between Suzuki V-Storm 250SX, Honda CB 300R & the KTM 250 Adventure.
Currently I own a Yamaha FZ 2010 model & tour on it only & its no doubt a very nice bike as I've completed 1007 KMS within 17-20 Hours 5 times over the last 2 years.

I don't know but CB300R is simply something I'm in love with but its touring capability is a bit questionable & that is something we all somehow know. Its ground clearance(GC) is my main concern, but I'm thinking about changing the tyres to increase the GC.
    Front from 110/70 to 100/80 or 110/80
    Rear from 150/70 to 130/70 or 140/70
Yes I know that will change the motorcycle dynamics but still that's just a thought. If someone can shed some light on the pros & cons more elaborately will be a lot of help.
I like it coz of its simplicity, light weight-ness, compact & powerful engine & overall reliability.

Second option is V-storm, which is just perfect & I love the way it is. Overall that a more practical ride & serves my purpose well.
I'm not deep into off-roading but Ladakh & similar terrains certainly demand something practical. People did such places on almost every kind of motorcycles but my brain's constant tussle with my heart is making me way confused.
KTM is my last choice, coz I somehow just don't feel myself to be that close to that ride with all my heart. Also I'm 5'6" so its something that's just OK for me, & yes 177kgs is a little bit heavy for me.

Any help will be lot of help.

    Regards

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

    THE END

@moderators hope this must be in what bike? Section abishek cb300 being the lightest must be nimble in traffic and suzuki must be more apt for touring and if u compare them on luggage carrying capabilities again the vstorm is the one to go for

Done! Mobile moderation doesn't register the changes. Hope it's clear now.

        Cheers!

Hello, I am also in a similar dilemma, Currently I own a fz v2 with which I tour but due to lack of ABS I am considering for an upgrade, I have finalised CB300R, v strom, adv250. But I am close to finalising cb300r. I think gc won't be an huge issue and we can tour on it considering people tour on Ninja300 with 140mm gc.

BTW do you face any heating issue in fz during long touring?

Till date I never faced any issues except for, there's loss of engine oil for which I had to top it up in my last 2 rides. Tried both Motul 7100 15w50 and Castrol Power1 Ultimate 10w50 & 15W50

Go in for the Suzuki V-storm 250 SX over the honda cb 300r as it gives you the big bike feel.
