  • confused between CB H'Ness 350 or RE Hunter 350

    Hello,

i am posting after a really long time. i am looking for a bike for my wife and below are my requirements

    1. Budget-2-3 lakhs but fleixblile for another lakh or more
    2. Age- late 20's
    3. Height- 5'6
    4. Weight-55 plus
    5. Intended usage (eg. Office/College commute, Highway runs, Racetrack usage, Weekend recreation riding etc.)- highway runs, weekend recreation, touring and occasional office
    6. Fuel Efficiency requirement (approx., if any)- 30-40 kms
    7. City & Highway percentage usage- 20:80
    8. Approximate Daily / Monthly running-1000 Kms plus
    9. City / Town /Village of residence (so we can evaluate road conditions / traffic / terrain / altitude / OTR pricing)- Bangalore & Jog falls area
    10. Brand / Bike type preference (if any)- CB350 H'ness and RE hunter 350.

i have narrowed down to the CB350 and Hunter350 but open to any new launches. we have already test ridden all the Jawas other RE's and KTMs and my wife didnt like any of them also she isnt into high speed cruising 80-90 max so very powerful bikes do not make sense. She is inclined towards the CB350 but can consider the Hunter as it seems VFM (features like Slip and assist clutch/ TC not a huge priority which comes on the Honda). Also we intend to use the bike for touring ,long distance riding and weekends as for office commutes she uses my 2010 Apache RTR 180.

would like some inputs on the Refinement(a top priority) & Maintaince and spare parts availability for long term use as we intend to keep the bike for a very long time.

    thanks!

If high maintenance & spares availability are a concern, then RE is the way to go
If Refinement & long term ownership are top priority, CB350 is the only way to go

Unfortunately both are at par with your requirements; good luck with your choice

I would suggest you to go for CB350, its most refined bike in its category & comfortable for longer journeys.
