  • Is it worth to buy the kawasaki Ninja 300 in 2023?

Hi everyone, I am planning to purchase a new ninja 300 but I heard the spares and services will be costly. And is it worth it in 2023?

Just wanted to know from any owners out there what are the most prominent issues with the ninja 300? I heard some of them are starter relay issues, bike throttle body issue, fuel pump issue, handle bearing, shock absorber in the front gets damaged. I seen a few videos in youtube stating these are some of the issues and I also heard due to the underbelly getting scraped someone had their engine oil seal broken too? So just wanted to know before I make a purchase from your expert experience are all these above mentioned issues true?if it is does it break the bank to fix it? How common are these issues? And does having this low ground clearance damage the bike on the long run?

Don't get me wrong I am not criticising the bike I want to know the cons so that I can make a purchase decision and if it will be affordable for me if anything breaks and is it worth it to buy the bike in 2023?

Hi Archer, It depends on what you are expecting from your new bike. I, myself has booked Ninja 300 this month, waiting for my bike. As far as I searched, asked and learnt, main cons in this bike are Higher service cost, Old Instrument Cluster, Less Technological features, Wobbling at 50-60 Kmph speeds due to MRF tyres at front, 4.5-5 k rpm there is a slight buzz.

If you need a bike for highway touring and cruising as well as looks of Sport bike, with incredible refinement, then Ninja 300 is your bike.

As far as low ground clearance is considered you can manage by slowing down much and avoiding speed breakers / crossing diagonally (though irritating), another alternative for GC is one person has raised the link between frame and suspension thereby increasing the GC. Most of the new buyers change the MRF to avoid the wobbling issue. Starter relay problem is not in BS6 bikes as far as I know, even if it exists it costs around 2-3k. Never come across the throttle body, shock absorber, fuel pump issue AFAIK.

When compared to the faired bikes in the segment RR310, RC390, the refinement, reliability, power delivery and seating posture for touring that Ninja 300 offers are great. I test drove all 3, I selected Ninja even though costs more for buying as well as maintaining due to its riding pleasure.
