  • Honda Aviator HET vs Honda activa HET

    Hi all,

I am planning to buy a scooter for my dad.

I was thinking about Access a while before, but since Honda has launched the Activa and aviator with HET engine, higher FE figures have been reported.

Hence, Access was ticked out of the equation. Now, i am wondering if a Aviator or an Activa would be better?

Dad's requirements would be a comfortable, hasslefree ride also good space available on the footboard of the scooter, since when we go to our local mall we use our old Kinetic honda for this stuff and everything bought is kept on the footboard.

Please let me know which one handles better and i am also informed that Aviator comes with a disc brake option, would that make a difference?

FE on both seems to be the same more-or-less.

Only negative i find in Activa is the sloping seat, if the one behind you is hefty he will have the tendency to slide forward thus disturbing the rider seating space/comfort.

So, have to decide between the two. Also, including a poll here for anyone who wants to express quick opinion.

    Thanks.

Activa or Aviator FE won't get you more 30-35KMPL. Access is a lot better in terms of performance, FE and stability.

I'M also a activa (2010) owner so mark my words its giving me 25KMPL
          Honda ETERNO 150 (2003-2010) SOLD.
          Honda ACTIVA (2010-2012) CURRENT.
          MARUTI SUZUKI ALTO LX (2004-_ _ ).

25KMPL is absolutely poor even with non-HET engines............you should get it checked. I enquired in service centers, the new HET engines from Honda deliver around 50Kmpl on road.
Recently, i came to know one fatal flaw in Access, the air filter is too close to the ground without any protection, so while it rains, the air filter gets thoroughly sogged thus making the experience miserable, even the showroom guys admit to the flaw.

I got it checked but it dint worked out. On last sunday i was at service center (HONDA) there were many owners they were complaining about FE it giving 30KMPL with HET engines. When i bought my Activa Honda claimed 50KMPL but this is what i am getting.

If not access check out swish too
BTW whats your budget if you can manage to get Vespa get it, Here its for 63K on-road

Re: Honda Aviator HET vs Honda activa HET

Comparing to activa an aviator, I find aviator slightly bigger than activa. So if your dad is a big man try aviator.
Aviator has option for disc brake and I find its good like it doesn't get locked easily.
Body parts of aviator is fiber and not metal like activa.
So you decide upon which one you want

Apart from the optional disc brakes, the other notable improvement in the Aviator is the presence of telescopic forks which aids handling.
