  • HYOSUNG ST7 or AQUILA PRO

Its been 4 years with my Royal Enfield Thunderbird (RETB). I just sold it around a month ago . It was a beautiful bike that served me well .During city rides to and fro Kandivali to Churchgate , I have never felt more better than when I sat on my RETB. During one of the G2G to Velneshwar , I really felt the true cons of the bike,

    CONS:

-Excessive Vibration at 100Kmph / The vibrations were so excessive that I had to get off the bike every 35KMs for a much needed butt break whilst the rest of the team took off.
-Unable to increase speed beyond 100 km/h / The rest of the team was averaging areound 120-140 kmph
-Fact that Xbhp guys hate the RE

During the same G2G I happened to come across the ST7 being driven by a fellow rider who was very content with the bike . He made a trip from Pune to Kanykumari and back without any niggles. On speaking to him he conveyed that he was extremely happy with the bike but swore that the Aquila Pro 650 was the best and perhaps he would be buying the same as an addition to his stable.

Hence I have now decided that its going to be Hyosung for me as I am more of a cruiser guy . I cut out Harley from my choices because frankly i did not like the ground clearance on the Harley bikes . Also after taking a test ride my apprehencions were confirmed .

Thus my friends I would be extremely greatful if you guys with your vast experience and technical know how would help me decide between the ST7 and the GV650

The AP wins hands down between the two.

Since you have city travel on the cards, Aquila Pro would get my nod over the ST7. For pure highway cruising, I would prefer the ST7 (though AP is not far behind in this regard too).
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Thanks antz.bin & The Monk I will definately consider the same .
However the road presence of the ST7 is just too empoweing to give it a miss.I wouldnt mind keeping this bike as my Weekend rider as for all other purposes I have my wifeys Hero Honda Pleasure.

^Now THAT is a level of substitution rarely observed. XD
Jokes apart,I have seen people purchasing the ST7 and the Aquila Pro here in my city. From what I perceived (as a third party biker astride a bike with three times less the cubic capacity), The ST7 didn't seem to attract as much attention as the Aquila.

Aytas_sss Good to note the same . Will keep the same in mind . I too am more drawn towards the AP but have however seen it only in pictures . Need to view the same in flesh.Does any body have an idea as to whether RONIT motor in Mumbai provides test rides?. I read somewhere that nowadays test rides for Hyosung bikes are provided at a cost of 500Rs with the same reimbursed on purchace.

Actually the OTR is 11.5l . I have considered same after a lot of research as found the same best in its segment.

Just flick the switch and twist my wrist
The beast comes alive, bringing me back to life
A tap to shift and flick of the wrist
The beast takes flight bringing me back to life
Kill the silence, tear apart the dark
The beast rips the road, hell yeah, i feel alive.

                          Thanks JD.

I am sure its going to be intruder for me . I have tried the braking and contrary to what most say I found it stopping the moment I wanted it to stop. I ride 80 kph which is my comfort zone .

I am really looking at some update from present owners esp those who have bought their bikes from Dream Suzuki in Pune . As there isnt any showroom in Mumbai selling Suzuki superbikes
