• Help neede to select used Karizma ZMR

Hello fellow xBhpians,

I have a small dilemma and being a rookie in motorcycle world, I am in a dire need of your guidance.
I am planning to buy a used Karizma ZMR, for which I have 2 options :

1. Karizma ZMR white, 2010, single owner, Qouted price : 60k

Driven by a bunch of young adrenaline driven foreigners for 23k kms.
Shown it to a mechanic and according to him, engine is in good shape.

2. Karizma ZMR white 2011, single owner, Quoted price : 55k

Standing since last 7 months in a room, owner has settled in some other state.

IS it worth going for a bike which is standing since last 7-8 months ?
and is this factor big enough to let me go for an year old model, for 5K higher price.
Also, if you are from bangalore, pls. suggest a good mechanic to thoroughly test my bike for its condition.

Please suggest.. Thanks and regards in advance.

Standing idle for some months is ok.Might have to change the battery though..
I will say, stay away from the foreigners bike...Surely the engine is likely NOT to get proper run-in.
More reasons NOT to go for foreigners bike...
Engine likely to be thrashed and treated rough as it is not their own.
Tyres at least rear one would need to be changed(23k)...then sprockets...then its good to change plug, filter and oil...then fork fluid and seals...Clutch plates and regular servicing also..
NOt to mention anyother issue that might crop up in mean time..
Believe me I know..I brought a 23k run apache and ended up changing a lot of stuff than I thought!

Where in Bangalore are you put up? If near Hebbal/Sanjaynagar, then I can help. As albyjose pointed out, the second option may not be that bad. Engine would need an oil change and battery recharged at the minimum. Why didn't the owner take it with him out of BLR? Accident records? Service history? Get these things verified first. Both bikes are KA registered right?
Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
