    Tourers or crotch rockets?

    Guys. . . i m looking for a new bike, ive had a pulsar 150 for a few years now - it is trusty believe me...but im torn between speed and touring, i dunno watto pick (btw anyone interested in a '05 maharashtra reg pulsar?? )

    I may sound kinda pedestrain here but im really confused, touring is primarily the priority - although speed is importent as well - rocketing outta a red signal is also right up there in the list...Help......

    What are the choices you have in mind? Put those choices here; that would make our jobs much easier. But, going by your current requirement it can either be the ZMA or the Pulsar couple (P-200/ 220)...

      Rocketting outta red signal when it is green I suppose. Else you gonna lose brownie points here!

        Hey Bro,
        I strongly believe that for touring too you need power which can convert into good acceleration & speed. So go for whatever Aryan suggested.

            the only true crotch rocket in this country was RD350 or the comet, outside the SBKs.

            Everything else just has two wheels and a lawnmower engine

              Very true!!! There is nothing specifically categorized as a tourer or a crotch-rocket here. Everything are wannabes of everything rolled into one(discounting the BULLs of course)!!! So just pick one and ride along....

                Well it is a personal decision whether you should be a rocket or a tourer. Depending on it you have to select your options and pick one. Think over it a bit and decide your inclination. If you want a good balance of both then Karizma, P200, P220 or RTR are good options.

                Btw, Hitanshu actually cleared up what is a real crotch rocket .

                    you're not left with too many options - p220/zma or the R15 (wonder why it never came up here).

                    You haven't mentioned your budget - if you have no issues there, I would have recommended you the VFR 800

                      Umm .. if you are 5'10" or less, can I ... umm .. suggest the Hyosung Aquila !!
                      You can get a few second hands. These are fast enough to win any traffic light GP, and have the tourer credentials spot on !!
                      Although once you ride one, with 80kmph @ 5000 rpm, with the thump of the twin exhaust V-twin, ripping wouldn't matter anymore. Trust me, it happened to me !!

                        Come on guys, don't be so critical of the indian bike scene. I certainly would not say the zma/220/200/r15 have lawnmover engines! . Even though we don't have a clear distinction b/w a tourer and crotch rocket , there is difference b/w lets say an R15 and a Zma.

                        @gawali.akshay: Your requirements/budget/usage etc would help us suggest you a suitable bike.
