  • harley or truimph?

    Hi folks ,

My name is sandeep and iam from bangalore , working for an it company
I have always dreamt of taking super bike to goa from bangalore
Well let put a hold there and come to the point

I am goin to book iron 883 in couple of days and have questions hope my brothers
Would lend some valuable advice, here we go

    1. Can iron 883 be still stable at high speeds like 130, 140
On highways. I mean wind blasts
    2. How durable are the tyres ( changing after how many km's )
    3. Do I need to wait for the 2014 model? If yes will the cost be more?
    4. Also I am quite confused wheather to wait for truimph daytona 675 as I have waited for so long now
I heard they would bring first few bikes through ckd , in that case can
Cost of daytona be under 8 lakh margin?

Any other suggestions for a nice bike within 8 lakh budget? Plz lend some I may book in another 2-3 days
The best Bike safety device is a rear-view mirror with a cop in it :)

      Hello Sandeep,

I am in your shoes too right now as I am toying with a plan which includes a Ninja 650, HD Superlow/Iron 883, upcoming models of Triumph (i hope it includes either America or Speedmaster) but would hold my buying impluse till AutoExpo.
Anyways getting on to the point I think you first need to understand what kind of bike you want do you want a track oriented Daytona (sitting position is same as SBKs) or you want a cruiser with a lot of low torque.

For the ownership experience I guess the people who have purchased it would be in better position to comment on it.
Just my 2 cents (please dont bash me if the post isnt useful as i thought it would be).

In next 2-3 days it certainly may not be possible for you to book a Triumph!!

How about the Ninja 650? Daytona has a very aggressive stance and may not favor BLR-Goa in one shot!

Daytone and 883 both are completely different bike, you just choose whether you need a cruiser or a tourer, But I thing which I really like to tell you if you need track oriented bike then one should wait till the Triumph come to India with their products....

The ideal bike for you is the Ninja 650.

Or you can satisfy your need for speed momentarily by getting a KTM 390 and waiting for the Triumph launch, though I do understand that it'll be hard for you because one tends to ignore humbler machinery when enamored by BLING*BLING

                yeah bro,

I liked truimph very much but i am planning on long rides once i have my bike. So Daytona would really crack my ribs in that way. Iron is ideal for long term cruising but still wanted to wait and see for truimph since 675 is kind of segment leader that class. also i am only hoping that they would price it under 8 lakh but my mind says it wont be under 8 lakhs for sure. Wanted to know the ownership experience from iron 883 owners here on servicing, Tyre chaning periods and other costs as i need to really plan for the maintenance once i buy these beautiful bikes

I am in such a hurry but eventually it would take another week for me to book it. Dont want price of the iron going up because of the release of 2014 model

yeah i guess i should drop the idea of truimph now as launch dates have not yet come out as its already mid of october and , also cant take a daytona to goa from bangalore would strain my back a lot i guess. I think will stick to iron 883, as it already has lot of showrooms around india and the kind of support i would get could be more. Thx buddy for the advice.

                hey bro,

Thx a lot for your time. As i said i never got interested in Ninja for some reason. Ninja is a great bike no offence. I think i am now loosing interest towards plastics and gaining more interest on "Iron" God help me!!

Can any iron 883 owners please help me with their ownership and servicing experiences. How much the service may cost, whats the service intervals, and how good is the bike on highways plz plz plz!
