Decent Power+Mileage+Comfort+least maintainence = Xtreme. Its also perfect for tall guys like you. you can expect a fuel economy from 45-55 kmpl

Apache n fazer would definitely be small for your height

Since you are mainly on highway, I suggest getting an Karzima R. Old is gold n this bike is a LEGEND. Its a breeze in riding in highways. Also fits your budget. Better Highway Cruising n Stability. Expect a Fuel economy of 35-44kmpl

The good Old ZMA... Not the new one... Nor the hover craft shaped ZMR. Still no replacement for this wonderful bike within this price point. Or else try for an used cbr 2012 model. You can get ABS cbr within a Lakh if you're lucky.

No probs, let's get back to the topic. . .

@TS see as mentioned above if you can get a used CBR250R for that price, it will be a worth buy, make sure you do proper check up of the bike's condition, papers, visual checking and most importantly the engine, if you like it all in all, just buy that one. . .

            Cheers!!!

Don't spend time looking for a used ride. Very difficult to find a good one. I spent 4-5 months in this process. Wasted time.
Have a TR of the Xtreme. It can do 80 all day without any fuss. I am 6'4. I ride my Xtreme only to college[37kms round commute], at around speeds of 60 it returns anywhere between 56-58. For real, not joking. Back in the days when I would ride at 80, it returned 46-47. The seat sucks, very hard. But can always get more foam there.
Since your budget is quite good, yes, go for the ZMR. Also, if Suzuki SVC are not a problem in your city, buy the GSR150R. 6 gear, gem of an engine. TAAALLLLL bike.

True there ,I spent 3 months looking for a nice pulsar 150 and then enough was enough ,decided to buy rtr 180(85k) ,then pulsar 180(78k) ,then looked upon ns (95k) And thought ,to hell with extra 10k ,and brought a ns, and after that a r15(1.27) ,btw, I had to spent 3 years trying to convince my parents ,especially mom that I won't drive bike harshly and will behave( they had seen my experiences with geared bicycles and activa `s) it took Me 3 years and 3months to finally own my very first bike

@TS: Don't buy apache, no matter how good that bike is. Cousine of my friend is 6'3" and has an apache, he looks like someone riding pocket rocket.

If I were you I would have bought 200ns in a heartbeat. But as your highway riding is more I'd suggest go for Pulsar 220. Karizma is underpowered compared to 220 and look smaller too. Even though 220 has stiff handling when in city it's completely effortless on highways. Also you'll need good headlights while you're coming home late night tired and want to make it to the bed "on time".

Within 1 lakh Pulsar 220 is "the fastest" in daytime and in nighttime(by a huge margin), least tiring at highways, looks better with taller and fatter guys.

So it trickles down to one sentence, If you love your wife truly, you would buy a Pulsar 220.

You can definitely go with Fazer. On a Fazer, you can cruise @ 80-90kmph all day long. And if we take into consideration Indian roads, that is a very good speed. A Fazer or FZ for that matter will never feel underpowered within 90kmph. There are very few roads in India where you can maintain 110kmph+ speed constantly. Also, it is better to maintain 90kmph all day long than attaining a much higher speed for sometime and let the bike cool down. Frankly ask yourself - what's the percentile of road you want to cover @ 110/120kmph. And as it is a YAMAHA, smoothness and reliability is not a cause of concern. The fattest tyre in class only adds to the stability. Take a used Fazer on a highway, ride it for an hour and decide whether it is truly underpowered for you or some false impression has been created on your mind. Cheers!
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

80-90 kmph is seriously on a bit lower side when you say for touring. I myself feel karizma or the pulsar needed a bit more higher stable speeds for touring when I hit highways. Country is developing. The notion of 'bad indian roads' will definitely change in time. At present there are plenty interstate highways with excellent roads where 110-120 also feels less. Ofcourse regarding safety, anything less than 140kmph would be enough. But 80-90 kmph on highways like these is definitely very low and puts more strain on the engine when compared to a higher cc bike doing the same speeds. When it comes to touring, higher cc bikes are any day much better.
Now you can say that there are bad roads too etc etc but what I said is purely keeping touring in mind where there are excellent roads which make you feel the power loss.

Maybe true 80-90 kms per hour speed may not be enough for touring but why more speeds touring is not racing its cruising and enjoying your ride comfortably and that's what fazer unicorn or other bikes do

Anuj my friend, you got me wrong. Yamuna Expressway is definitely of International standard. But how many roads of that level is in India now? The thread starter lives in Chennai which is more than 2100 km+ from Yamuna Expressway. Radhakrishnan has mentioned in his thread that he needs to travel to and from office. Also, I NEVER said that Indian roads are bad. All I wanted to say was all over India, there are very few roads where a bike cruising @ 80-90 kmph would seem underpowered.
FYI: Neither I own a FAZER nor I work for YAMAHA. I was just trying to speak my mind regarding power of an excellent bike like Fazer.

I feel there is enough road in India to feel an fz under powered. No no need to go on an express way to feel that. Consider 800+ kms a day . At 80 -90 it's impossible for most. For a 200 kms ride though it's alright

                                Re: Suggest some bikes

I can see this thread starting from somewhere and going somewhere else. Keeping apart the fight between FZs, Unicorns, Apaches, Pulsars... guys lets help him out buy a bike. Just remember, all bikes are different. You'll not know a bike until you own it for a long time. And that is when you'll start loving your bike, and start living with its shortcomings. That's why FZ owners love their FZs, Unicorn lovers love their Unicorns.. and every biker loves his bike.. ... So, in one word, lets wrap this.. PEACE..

Coming back to topic. Considering your height, built and budget, the ZMA seems a perfect fit for you. But the bike is getting old, needs refreshment. And the newer refreshed bike, to me, personally, doesn't look appealing. Second thoughts, P200NS is a good go. It seems small, but actually it might fit you well on it. Just go for a test drive to check if you're comfortable riding one.
Now, about riding on highways. Don't worry about it that much. Now matter what bike you go for.. either the ZMA, P220 or P200NS.. you won't like to ride at 120kmph constantly on highways. Because..
                                (A) There will be wind blast, definitely, a fairing just reduces it, doesn't cut it off totally.
                                (B) Neither of these engines will give you the feel that they're comfortable being ridden at those speeds, but they are definitely capable of it.
                                (C) Being carb engines, high revs will give low mileage.
On highways, if you maintain speed between 80-90kmph.. then you can ride those bikes all day. You'll get decent mileage, and you won't get tired of the wind blast too.

                                Verdict:
ZMA - strong, comfortable, reliable.. but getting old
P200NS - power and agility, fresh model.. could have been more refined
P220 - power and comfort.. getting old and also lacks refinement

P.S.: I have not recommended the Apache RTR 180 ABS as I feel it won't be comfortable for a tall person. But, it is one of the best bikes in 1L range.
3 Things to remember: 1.Helmet 2.Low Beam 3.Enjoy every mile
