  • Bike under 2 Lakhs

I need to buy a new bike within a months time from today.

    Age : 22

    Usuage : 60 City - 40 Highway - Monthly long trips.

    Pillion comfort is needed.

    Currently shortlisted bikes : CBR - 250

Concerns : I love the look of CBR 250/300 - 2014. I like the RC 390/200 but am doubtful about the pillion comfort. About the Pulsar 200 SS/375, I'm really skeptical here. I sold my 200 NS for some reason and I look for a refined performance. So, I'm somewhat leaned against pulsars.

A guy offers 2800 Kms ridden 2013 model CBR for 1.55 grand. I'm in negotitation process.

Question : Should i wait for KTM RC/CBR 2014/Ninja 250(???) Should I buyt the current CBR (IMO it is overpriced).

What is the price that I can pay for the used CBR? (I know this can go in used price thread)

    Thanks

    Shylesh

Thanks for the reply. Probably Iin case of cbr I might opt for std version the reason being money issues. I can wait for feb auto expo, but my worry is that bikes shown will be launched only at may-june which is really long time for me :-(

Booking of RC series would start from March AFAIK
Do not go for used bikes unless you really know what you are getting.

I know pity good about bikes. (Not a automobile engineer though) I'm not lazy to move my butt and go search bikes in flesh. I love the duke as it is today. But, As pillion comfort is very much important for me, i cannot buy it. Even with RC i doubt the same. The only thing that makes me worry is the 250cc market is very scarcely populated as of now.

              Hi Shylesh,
Why it it worrying for you, More options are always better!!
I would suggest you to wait for the Auto expo. You can see how the production versions of bigger pulsars look like.....
Honda mite also come with something new (CBR300R or CBR500R), then there will be more CBR250Rs in the 2nd hand market.. Again more option to bargain...

BTW: I myself waiting for an upgrade to my r15V2

correct !! So you should look for CBR 250R only !! If budget can be increased then look for D390!!

D390 may be out of contest for him due to the pillion comfort. He, as of now is left with cbr250 only!
but I also suggest him to wait for the EXPO ( but it is just me )

well anything we see the at the expo will not be hitting the roads anytime soon ..they take a few months time
cbr 250 should be the best and obvious choice unless u want to go the ROYAL way(r.e) within ur budget

and also please correct it should be 155 grand not 1.55 since grand is only a thousand

                        Re: Bike under 2 Lakhs

Is there any chance that the Mojo hitting the road in feb/early march? IMO the CBR 250 is slightly overpriced and if the future cbr 300 r25 Hyosung 250 Naked are priced right, I'll be hating myself.

Can anyone comment on the pillion comfort of Hyosung GD250N and RC200/390? Having said that, I myself am a naked bike lover and will jump on to mojo if it has listened and changed its headlamp nightmare and prices it right.

The bikes in the bold have not even been released, so no one can comment on their performance, pillion comfort or anything.

Also, the R25, CBR300, Hyusong 250N would all be in the rs 2L range (+-20k)..

                          Ride safe and have fun.

Although CBR250 will be the best bike for pillion comfort but the performance is not refined as you would expect it from a Honda mill but then I guess you have very limited choice considering the fact that pillion comfort is of utmost importance to you

As of now, cbr250 looks like the appropriate choice.

If you like street bikes, suzuki is going to launch a 250cc street bike very soon. I doubt the looks will be as good as other naked bikes (subjective) but I'm sure the pillion comfort will be good.
